The plan has a 7.10 cents per kWh rate with no monthly recurring charges or early termination fee. This is an introductory rate option and the plan turns into a variable rate monthly plan at the end of three months. However, this may be a good choice if you want to lock in a low rate for just a few months before PPL raises the price to compare. When your three-month term is almost up, you can shop around for another option when rates may be lower.

12 Month Cheap Electricity Plan

You can also select a low-rate plan for a longer term. The Frontier Utilities PA Frontier Secure Power 12 plan locks in a 9.49 cents per kWh rate for 12 months and won’t increase during that time. This plan does have a $9.95 monthly recurring charge attached to it, so you should note this additional monthly cost. However, there is no early termination fee so you can switch plans whenever you like if a better rate rolls around. At the end of the 12 months, Frontier Utilities sends you two renewal notices. These notices state your plan continues on a monthly basis with a variable rate unless you choose a different plan.

Shop Before PPL Raises its Price!

Don’t wait until PPL raises its price to switch electricity plans!
