While variable rate plans in the spring and fall usually go down, those rates can fluctuate each month and cost you more in the summer and winter. The best way to save on your PA electricity plans is to shop fixed rate plans. Fixed rate electricity plans have a price per kWh that does not change for the length of the contract. The plans we’ll look at are 12 month fixed-rate electricity plans that lock in a low rate for 12 months.

Get the Cheapest Electric Plan

The PECO PTC rate of 9.43 ends on May 31, 2024. So that’s a monthly energy supply cost of about $60, saving you $20 a month. That’s over $240 savings a year! There’s also no monthly charges to worry about but the plan has a $75 early cancellation fee to be aware of. And as a bonus, they use entirely renewable wind energy!

PA Electric Plan with no Early Cancellation Fees

Next we have our #2 rated electricity provider, Frontier Utilities. Their PA Frontier Secure Power 12 plan is their latest new customer offering, at a 12 month fixed rate of only 7.09 cents per kWh.
