Shop these great electric plan deals today to save more tomorrow!

First Energy utility electricity prices are predicted to soar this summer. Between a recent PJM capacity auction hike and proposed tariffs, West Penn will be raising their electricity rates anywhere between 11% and 19%! And to top it off, above normal summer temperatures could make you use more electricity than normal. Thankfully for PA consumers in Washington looking for cheap electricity, you still have time to shop and save.

Save with Cheap Variable Rate Electricity

Let’s assume the West Penn PTC rate will go up 15% this summer. That’s an increase to 10.9 cents per kWh! Assuming your average monthly electricity usage is 854 kWh, the new West Penn PTC cost would be around $93 per month. And that increase could go even higher! The great news is that we have rates right now that can beat that and offer flexibility.

For instance, our cheapest plan is a variable rate from American Power and Gas. Their Residential Clean Energy Plan starts at an astonishingly low 7.49 cents per kWh, costing around $64 the first month. The second month, that rate goes up to 9.89 cents per kWh, bringing that up to $84.50. However, after that, your rate will vary from month to month. But because it’s a month to month plan, there’s no contract and no cancellation fees. Additionally, there are no monthly charges to worry about it! Finally, 25% of your electricity is generated using renewable resources, supporting clean energy initiatives.

Get a New Customer Deal on Electricity

Next up is our lowest 12 month rate in Washington, from Major Energy. The Secure Choice 12, their new customer offer, comes with no early termination fees or monthly charges, offering ultimate flexibility. And it’s our lowest available 12 month rate, starting at just 11.39 cents per kWh. That would cost you around $97.30 a month in energy supply. Though slightly higher than our estimated PTC rate, that actual PTC rate may go higher! So, this plan could be end up saving you money.

Cheap Electricity Rates with Short Terms

However, if you’re looking for a shorter term plan, there are quite a few options. These could be especially great if you’re moving, or plan on shopping again in the fall.

For instance, consider the True Simple 3 plan from APG&E. This plan from our silver rated provider comes in at 10.75 cents per kWh, costing around $91.80 a month for energy supply. But, there are no early termination fees or monthly charges to worry about!

APG&E also has their True Simple 6, a slightly longer term length that could get you through to shop the fall months. This plan comes in at 11.29 cents per kWh, bringing the monthly cost to $96.41. Additionally with no early termination fees or monthly charges!

Finally, our last plan comes from Think Energy.
