But you can avoid this by shopping fixed rate plans. However, the standard 12 month plan may not be your best choice! Your plan would expire next summer, when prices may be higher. A shorter term length, like a 6 month plan, would expire near in the fall when rates usually dip. That\u2019s a perfect time to lock in a low price for the year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, if you\u2019re planning to move or make other big financial decisions, a shorter term length would present less hassle. Not to mention, the shorter contract lengths tend to provide some&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.paenergyratings.com\/deals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">great deals<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Best Short Term Summer Electric Rates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting on June 1, 2026 the new <strong>PECO<\/strong>\u00a0PTC rate is going to be 11.572\u00a2 per kWh. So, assuming the average monthly electricity usage is about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/electricity\/sales_revenue_price\/pdf\/table_5A.pdf?fbclid=IwAR0DX7Zar389C6UvfaV8lIVt2ME74Uk02yZa9sqVxHr8ADZVRdFYRoD6A5s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">854 kWh<\/a>, that\u2019s around $99 a month for the supply charge alone. But due to summer weather, your usage may be higher! So, we have several\u00a0short-term <strong>PECO<\/strong>\u00a0electricity plans that will help you save money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First up is our lowest rate, from the<strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.paenergyratings.com\/companies\/xoom-energy#all-plans-top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Xoom Energy<\/a>&nbsp;SureLock 6&nbsp;<\/strong>plan. Their&nbsp;<strong>Clear Guarentee 6<\/strong>&nbsp;plan comes in at 11.5\u00a2 per kWh, bringing your total to $98 a month. This plan also comes with their <em>Clearview Energy Rewards<\/em> program, where you can earn points to spend on discounts and to participate in giveaways. And if that&#8217;s not enough for you, they have other plans that offer free nightly electric vehicle charging through their EV program. Also, be aware that this plan has a $150 early cancellation fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, we have a great renewable energy plan from&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paenergyratings.com\/companies\/inspire-energy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Inspire Clean Energy<\/a>.<\/strong>&nbsp;Their&nbsp;<strong>Inspire Fixed 6&nbsp;<\/strong>plan comes in at 11.5\u00a2 per kWh, bringing your total to about $98 a month. And for this price, you gain 100% renewable energy supported by renewable energy certificates (RECs).
