They will email you the contract I resign but what they don't say is that you'll be paying a higher rate. I. “ We had made arrangements with AMBIT to pay our bill on October 2. The morning of the second at 9 am they turn our power off. REALLY? This is not the only time they have done this either. Second month into the covid pandemic ,my husband out of work and it was 112 outside they turn my electric off. We tried making arrangements with them but they said he would have to be on unemployment to be able to claim covid benefits. He is a contractor so unemployment benefits were not happening for us. This company does NOT care about the people who are struggling and it shows. As soon as I can find another carrier I'm done with this shitshow! ”
“ Been using ambit for close to a decade and they have only gotten progressively worse. Just recently received an email saying my statement was ready. Go to pay it and it says we owe 0.00 We just moved and we're only going to be billed 13 days so we thought, oh well, we'll see it on our first full bill surely. Checked several more times throughout the day just to be sure and then went ahead and processed a zero dollar payment (which cost us 2.50) Recieved a disconnect notice in the mail today saying we're past due on 80 bucks. No biggie but why the discrepancy? So my wife and I call the 1-800 number get a guy who barely speaks English tell us that yes indeed we owe the money and the bill most have been lost in the mail and blames USPS. We're on paperless billing, so that's not the case. I explained I tried to pay but YOUR payment portal says I dont owe. Then I get blamed for not paying it and have to start over with my on time payments. I ask to speak to someone else and he refused several times before I just started saying I want to speak to a manager over and over again. Then I hold for the "manager" who just really didn't care. He also audibly set down his phone and didn't respond for a full 1-2 minutes. I asked if he set the phone down, he swears he didn't. Then proceeds to blame shift again. I asked to speak to his manager in which he said he's THE manager (yeah right) offered no apology for the discrepancy which is on their end, no solutions to my on time payment record which is now ruined and no resolution before he hung up on me. If you are dumb enough to use this company pay very close attention to your plans expiration date because they will not notify you and the bill you get will be EXPONENTIALLY more than normal. Happened to us twice.It's just a MLM pyramid scheme and they'll promise you the world trying to get you to sign up but when it comes time to deliver.... nothing. Hidden charges and backwards car salesmen math ”

I made a payment and had a confirmation of amount. However, more money was deducted than what I confirmed. Now Id have to wait two weeks for reimbursement/refund through the mail... my confirmation means nothing, so I try to send the proof via an email they provided but that email box is full and cannot accept my email. Their customer service cannot believe their email is full and said I should delete some of my emails to see if that works...
I wound NOT recommend this company as they cant be trusted and cannot find reasonable problem resolutions to customers. ”
“ When I decided not to renew my contract, my price doubled. I was moving apartments and didn't want to renew with them. Other companies have better pricing. My price for 15 days was the same as 30 days. I came to find out that my leasing agent and her friends were getting free electricity from Ambit based on referrals. I came to find out that this was "illegal." Leasing agents can't recommend only one electric provider. So, we the other customers were paying for their electricity. Their cost was being passed on to us. ”

I think this is probably the first time ever written a review. But I feel so strongly against this company I don't feel like I can write enough. I was an Ambit customer for 2 years. I never paid my bill late or had any issues until my last two months. I didn't notice until I had moved out of my previous apartment that I had 2 bills totaling 1200 dollars. I called multiple times trying to get it figured out. No one would help me. I'm two years my highest bill was about 150 dollars. Yet they could see no problems or concerns with a 400 and an 800 dollar bill within the span of a month and half.
The best that I could figure out was it was a bad hot water heater that ran the bill up. I obviously don't hold Ambit responsible for that. My complaint is I'm a disabled veteran and I was laid off in March due to Covid. I was living on my life's saving during this time. All I asked is if we could possibly work out a fair price. I offered to pay the average for the year, for both months. They would do nothing except offer to put me on a payment plan. Even after I finally got them to admit that there must be an issue and I'm not just holding nightly raves in my 700sqft apartment. They still said that because the electricity was technically used regardless of how, it was a valid charge.
Again, I'm not claiming they legally did me wrong. But at a time when people could use just a little bit of help. They felt they needed my 1200 more than I did to keep a roof over my head. I can't speak for there rates compared to anyone else. All I can tell you is if you want to do business with a company that cares about you and wants to provide you with good service, this isn't the company for you.
I should also mention it took them almost 6 months to decide to call me back and tell me they could offer no help. ”
“ Im currently an Ambit customer and they have been the worst electric company Ive ever been with! They are not clear on their plans. They promise they have low rates, but they dont. The lowest bill was my first 2 bills when I first started with them and from there it kept going higher and higher. Customer service recommended a different plan for me and that plan is even higher! “ I would much prefer to give Ambit zero stars, but the system wouldn't take it. I agree with every single complaint with every other review against this company. I have used them since 2011and the bill just got higher and higher until my latest $800 bill with the statement becoming more and more vague. When you call to inquire about it and are lucky enough to get someone you can half way understand, they are just flat out rude. They have the most horrible customer service hands down every single time I have called. Their hidden rates are extremely deceptive and they refuse to be held accountable for it. “ They are absolutely the worst company to work with. You cant actually talk to a rep. the customer service is HORRIBLE no matter who you talk to. They charged us 609.45$ for one month! We have an eight foot office and a smaller shop then most. The cancellation service was 250$ and of course they added extra unrated charges. “ I was charged twice for a payment period when i made my payment. I contacted ambit for a refund as I needed the money. I was told i will get a refund in 7 to 10 business days. 4 weeks (20 business days) have passed, and no refund on my checking account or a check in mail. I called ambit and they referred me to a 3rd party that handles their refund. Both companies have been giving me the run around pointing fingers at each other. I then requested for the money to be simply credited back to my account and the check cancelled, but they said they check has been mailed out. 4 weeks and counting and still no check has been seen. Needless to say, I will be moving on from their services. ”

(Instances of bad customer service(shown above as well): tried to switch plans on an activation date a month from the date, however was threatened with their $200 early termination fee, even when I was staying with them! Am on the 4th account just because they keep inputting the wrong zip code to my new location. In additon to creating new accounts, they've stated multiple times that I would have to pay the reinstatement fees and early termination fees for their mistakes! Plus multiple other horrid stories)
Please note the people are nice, its just the company does not allow their staff to resolve customer issues making every call/chat a terrible experience. ”
