“ For starters I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and I live alone. I received a bill of 220.00 and the next month it was 215.00!!! I called customer service and was asked if I had plug-ins and if I unplug my cell phone once it reaches 100% ?!? Of course I laughed and so did she, but I guess it was a script and it was a formality if someone questions their bill. With that being said I made contact with other companies and shared the amount of kws (1030) and was advised that if I had used that amount with their company my statement would've been less than 90.00 dollars. I've have changed my services and paid the early cancellation fee of 200.00 dollars for a grand total of 655.00 in three months. I just received my first full month statement from the new company and I now owe 74.00 dollars which makes more sense because that was what my payments were before I received the 200.00 dollar statements. The friend that signed me up with this company is no longer a friend. This company has 2 Class action lawsuits for over billing and it's public record. ”

“ This company is ridiculous I called and payed over the phone. I was not informed of a 60 deposit that needed to be paid. It was also not displayed on my billing to pay online. They shut off our power even with the monthly bill paid. They also said it'll take 24 hours to turn on. We payed the past due and will go without power for 24 hrs?! This is a shit company ”
“ My roommate and I are beyond fed up with Ambit and their lies. Literally EVERY agent tells me something different. One agent said we can pay $50 today Dec 6th and we can pay the past due balance on the 16th (rommate lost their job 2 wks ago and still pending unemployment). So we call today to finalize the arrangements and and now they said we MUST pay by the 14th or it'll be disconnected knowing we lost an income 2 wks ago. They refuse to work with your pay schedule. Im blamed for miscommunication on their end and it cost an issue for me and loss of food items because of the lie that was told me by 2 different people ”
“ Before we could move my GF had to sign up with an electricity company with her info. In the first apartment me and my GF didn't have any issues until we moved. My GF messaged someone on the website about moving and trying to finalize info. The person left the chat out of nowhere so it never got finalized but they could see when it took place and what was being said. My GF thought everything was all good and finalized, but we still had to pay electricity for the old apartment for an extra 3 months while we weren't living there. We also had to pay the current apartment complex $300 for OUR Electricity. After we realized we were having to pay electricity for the old apartment my GF called to let them know the new address and that we were still paying for the old apartment electricity so the guy took $20 off how much we owe. The next day the power randomly got shut off for us and we ended up having to pay $90 just to get it back. Three weeks later we looked at our account and of course were still being charged from the old apartment. When I called Customer Service, the dude was no help, saw the original message they had with my GF and when I was telling him about how we moved 3 months ago before I called. He just kept saying, "you requested to change places this month" and when I asked if he could help out with the amount that's due Today ($255). He said he can help set up a payment plan. He even said that the $90 we had to pay was from the old apartment complex electricity and that the majority of the $255 was electricity from this month. I wish I did a lot more research on Ambit before joining them. I plan on leaving them as fast as I can. ”

Oversight due to not being on auto pay and disconnected without warning and took forever to get back on even tho Im in an apartment and paid immediately after disconnect. Terrible customer service. Send emails daily about other stuff but couldnt send an email about bill being due! ”

“ Ambit Energy does not care about their customers. I overpaid on a bill and they would not cancel the transaction so that I can make the correct amount payment. I was only trying to pay the current amount due. The online paying system took the full amount that still was not due until 18 days later. They would not give me my money back nor did they care to be helpful. ”
“ My leasing agent from my apartment told me to sign up with this pyramid scheme that at the time I didn't know was a pyramid scheme. Well my first bill was $400 for one month. I thought it was my plan that was wrong so I changed my service plan. now my second bill is $500. I have a 1 bedroom apartment. “ The reason for my review is I signed up for services supposedly went through a month had passed before they told me they canceled my account didnt reach out to me by phone by email or by mail I had to call myself and ask for my refund only for them to tell me my refund will be issued on a card and will come in the mail 10-14 business days. They said I could have gotten the refund back quicker if i would have called really when no one reached out to me to tell me anything I cant say Athe electricity is bad but customer service here they do not reach out to you I will say its very unprofessional of them. ”
“ I have had Ambit Energy for over 5 years and continue to have issues. Now I desperately need to get OUT of my 3 year contract. This company is a joke. Your bill is low for a few months then almost triples in cost after and the only explanation and assistance you get is these are fees that come from center point engery & they have NO control over it but also charge there own fees they cant help with either. I was told to call 211 and get assistance from a utility assistance program. I can pay my bill I cant pay double my bill in fess someone else is charging its ridiculous!! Center point charge fees to all light companies but the fact they dont have any programs to assist with these things are why I want out!!! THEY DONT CARE !! Its that simple to them ”

“ I've been a loyal customer for almost 10 years now. I had to switch accounts for my billing. In the switch, I accidentally attempted to pay the bill with my old account. Well, once I found out that I made the mistake, I was charged a late fee, disconnect notice fee, and a returned payment fee....Though these charges were only $57, I have a problem with them not waiving them because of my tenure and loyalty as a good customer. I have a house full and I shell out at times up to $500 a month or more for service. Quite disappointed. ”
