  I've been a loyal customer for almost 10 years now. I had to switch accounts for my billing. In the switch, I accidentally attempted to pay the bill with my old account. Well, once I found out that I made the mistake, I was charged a late fee, disconnect notice fee, and a returned payment fee....Though these charges were only $57, I have a problem with them not waiving them because of my tenure and loyalty as a good customer. I have a house full and I shell out at times up to $500 a month or more for service. Quite disappointed.

worst company ever

  i used this company since a little over 2 years and i was always ok, but then 2 months ago they told me i have to switch to a new plan even though my plan was a 36 month deal, when i got the guy on the phone he told me the new plan would be cheaper and i cannot go on with the one i had, ok so i changed and last months bill was higher than ever before, i called and they told me it never changed, lie number 1, than i got my new bill today, i am gone all day so nothing is on, my ac barely ever runs and still its twice as much as last month, i dont know how that can be but they are not even willing to listen to me, this is the worst of the worst, my property manager told me about this company when i moved in, i guess they all work together, i have a 1 bedroom apt and pay more than my daughter and husband with a 2 bedroom place who uses TXU. this here is a scammer company and i threatened them with a lawyer which they ignored.

  I was told to use Ambit at a complex I was considering. The complex made me get electricity etc before approval and I wasnt approved. Called to cancel Ambit. They said they did. Finally moved into another apartment and they hit me with two bills. One for the 1st apartment and mine and tried to get me to pay both!

Used them for a yr at my current complex. No complaints. Bills were between $75-$90. Renewed and 4 months in was on vacation for the summer and my bill was $109, $129 & $129. Now Im August they hit me with two bills, $129 and $206 and cut my electricity off! Its only Aug. 17th and my $206 bill Is for Aug 13-31st. HOW?

To top it off. When I renewed, they offered me plans that differed my original plan and only had the amount and name of the plan. Come to find out, the plan I, Chose, for my APARTMENT is a plan from 2022-2025!!! And to get out of this I have to pay them $299!

When you're looking for cheap electricity for your apartment, you focus on the 500kWh rate, not the 1000 or 2000 kWh rates. Bill Credit plans are not a good idea, look for fixed-rate plans with low Monthly Recurring Charges.

  I called ambit energy last week and ask them how much my bill is to avoid disconnection ( because I never received a bill) the rep inform me it will be 242 and some change so I paid it over the phone. Monday comes around and my lights are off I called ambit energy and the first rep says that I had 2 disconnection notices and I only paid one of them off. (Which made no f******* sense to me) so I got a supervisor she said I would have to pay an additional 215$ plus reconnect fee to turn back on I informed the supervisor that when I called last week they said it was only $242. So the supervisor says she will reconnect my service for a one time courtesy and it will take 2-4hours to restore and I have til Friday to pay $215 or it will be disconnected. So I waited 5 hours and my lights are still not on. Called ambit energy again spoke to a rep saying that I have yo wait 24-48 hours.. this is ridiculous I would not recommend ambit energy I wont to change another electric company but Im stuck with ambit because of a switch hold! Also it seems like my electric bill gets higher and higher every month.

Outrageous charges

  Our bill was late 1 day and they sent us a disconnecting notice same day
When we got the next statement
Charges are $15 for late fee No shame
And $10 disconnecting fee ( there was no disconnection because no needed bill was allready pd.
We will take our business somewhere else if they don't drop those outrageous charges immediately ..

  I was told by Ambit, they are cheapest and best. They are such liars! I was told I would pay the bill plus $9.95 for Oncor. My bill since having Ambit is the highest I have ever, ever had!!! I would get out of my contract TODAY if possible!

  Payed my light bill 1 day after it was due and was charged $14 late fee. Just paid my light bill of $300, only 2 weeks ago and my light bill is already $396 this is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST COMPANY EVERRR!!! I HATE that I went with them.. you live and you Learn!! Dont chose this company.. save your money!!!

  Outrageous prices. Customer service is useless. They can't do anything to the account. They have this feature where you are supposed to be able to see your monthly usage broken down, but it never works. Anytime you ask customer service about it, they're "having a connection problem" or "are undergoing updates". The whole company is a joke.

  This is the worse energy company l have ever seen. They have variable due dates monthly without telling the customer before you sign up and charge you $8.03 for a late. Poor customer service etiquette and manager is very rude and stupid, he hang up the phone on me because l asked him if he have time to read the contract of his house energy or water company because he told me l should have read the contract they send to me. l am switching my service to a better company. l will make sure that l flash this company on all my social media platforms.

  When I called with a question about my bill, I spoke to 2 different people. The first person want rude but very unhelpful so I asked to be transferred to someone that could maybe help me. From the first minute this person answered, he was openly hostile. I switched providers within the hour - I didn't even care about the cancellation fee.

  The worst electric company in the world. We lived in Dallas, TX, and lived in a small bedroom apartment we didn't use a microwave or an oven and there was not a dishwasher in my apartment. We don't own a TV! We don't turn on the heater or AC unless the temperature gets too hot/cold. We were barely home and it was just me and my spouse. We turn off everything when we are not using the appliances/devices but we had to pay about $100 each month.A week before we moved out, a technician from another company said our meter has been reading wrong. After calling Ambit's customer service many times about the bill, they didn't even offer a solution that they can send people out to check the meter.This company is a bait and switch. They are the nicest when they're selling but when you have a concern they are rude at customer service and they just don't care.Here's a hint if you will be paying a lot for electricity when choosing a company: Don't choose a company that does philanthropy work and that has many programs such as referrals, or free summer energy (because nothing is free) because they will suck your hard-earned money and you're paying for someone's else electricity. The salesperson, Eddie Pina, that we work with was benefitting from the referral program and he ended up not paying for electricity. We had his personal number and he only answered when it was time for us to switch to Ambit. However, when I had questions about the bill. He ignored us and showed that he didn't care and did not even offer a solution perhaps having people come out to check the meter. Before switching to Ambit try calling customer service to see how they handle calls even before you become their customer to see their true side. I will never recommend this company even to my enemies.

  I used Ambit Energy when I lived in Dallas and really enjoyed the service I received. I also qualified for theirnfree energy program when I referred 15 people to the service. Now I'm in Austin and can't use the service BUT I was able to get the Free Energy credits transferred to my grandma in Houston who is still an Ambit Energy customer. That's so awesome!

  Four months after I canceled with Ambit due to moving out of my apartment, and into a house I received a collection from the credit bureau which drastically affected my credit score. I had $0.00 as a total amount due, with zero invoices of the amount that I "supposedly owed" on the Ambit portal. I do not understand how I was supposed to pay for something I did not know about. I have never missed a payment on anything including my credit card being paid in full every month. If you choose this company, expect hidden fees that you will not know about once you cancel. Major Deragatorys will show on your account when you never expect them! Hopefully, the proof I provided to collections will reverse this nonsense.

  Overcharged 15 Cents a kWh actually comes to 17 cents both ridiculous. Locked in a contract they want to overcharge to leave. Not much help AT ALL with payment arrangements.

  My bills are getting out of hand 300 plus dollars light bills on a 10.5kwp. Im in a 2 bedroom apt and barely home due to my job working. There is no way I'm using 2000 plus kwph a month. This company has gotten bad..I do no recommend this company to anyone. It's ridiculous to keep getting this type of bill of electricity when you barely home. I will be ending my services.
