Unprofessional customer service warning stay away from Ambit

  Had electric with Ambit called in and they would not talk to me about my account. I am the president of the corporation and the one who set electric up at Ambit but was told I was not An authorized person on the account. Customer service rep was a foreigner and could not be understood they need English speaking people who can communicate and have customer service skills. Avoid Ambit at all cost

Suddenly my bill doubled

  After little change in weather suddenly my bill jumped to $400. I have never had a $400 light bill in all my years of paying bills. Two months in a row Ive been charged it now. Our water heater and stove are on gas to begin with. And that didnt change at all. I called and could barely understand the customer service rep and basically they just said that they would send someone to check the meter, on my dime, and that I still had to pay the bill.

  WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Had disconnected services in July 2021. Now March 2022. They continued to send a bill for 9 months with late fees and taxes and late fees on top of late fees. Could not get off their customer list. Our company had two leadership changes in the last 3 years and they still had old contact information. This leadership is not originally from TX in general and had no idea who these people were. Ambit customer service would NOT help in any way to resolve this issue because we were not listed as contacts. (Like how do we find out who they are. We are not from around this area of service. ) I would NOT recommend this service to anyone, especially one that adds late fees and service charges to late fees and service charges, when you have exhausted efforts to disconnect from their service.

  I had Ambit for 1 year and the rate was fair for a few months and then starting going up. There is no way to pay half before the due date and then pay the rest with out paying a fee. I paid $289 for February and now for March it's $363.91. And Oncor charges are ridiculous $112. So I am done with Ambit! Cancelled and not going back.

  I live alone and this is my first apartment, I was suggested by my property manager but my mistake. I have a 2bdr,2bth so guest can have some where to sleep when they come over. I also have a two jobs so Im literally never at home but every month for the past 3 months my light bill has been $250 and once again Im never home and no one uses that other room or bathroom literally EVER and Im never home. I thought that was normal until my dad told me he pays that for his house. I dont know what theyre charging or where there getting there prices of usage from but Im switching over to a different company because its just odd

  I've been with this company for almost 3yrs but noticed they give customer estimated bill I used to pay $25 because my apartment is very small and I work nights so barely at home but later went to $30+ and $50+ mind you my usage hasn't changed but yet my bills going higher and later $80+ called customer service but like always they're rude most them and they don't know their job what amazed me was when my usage was sent they claim I use light mostly at night but yet I'm @ work ambit is just a scam perioddt run from them they're thieves

DO NOT USE AMBIT ENERGY!

  We signed up on-line for Ambit Energy in November 2021, and when the rate did not take effect one month later on our electric bill, we called to remedy the situation. At that time we were told it could take up to 2 billing cycles for the contract to take effect. When we called one month later in January 2022, we were told the 2 cycles must be two full cycles and 3 billings. When we called in February 2022, the rates had increased substantially. During this phone call, after 5 requests, we were finally transferred to a supervisor. Once we were in touch with the supervisor, we were put on hold for over 30 minutes while he reviewed our account. We were told about every 5 minutes that they were "still" reviewing our account - were they hoping we would just go away if they kept us on hold long enough? At the end of the waiting period, we were told our account was not verified through the website and even though we received an email stating we were enrolled on November 19th, 2021, Ambit would NOT honor their contract. They were "sorry" for the inconvenience. They are NOT TRUSTWORTHY and do not deserve your business!

  I was severely overcharged and mislead about free night and whatnot. Theyre definitely not a trustworthy company as far as sticking to free nights. I was charged an average bill of $150/month for 600sq.ft apt. They have nothing below 14Cents/w. So truthfully if I wasnt new to Texas they wouldnt have gained me as a customer. Ill do more research next time!

Power shut off before due date - $0 past due!

  I received a statement the week of 1/27/22 in the mail, with a $0 past due amount and current amount due on 2/9/22. Today, 2/8/22, I came home to no power, and when I called Ambit they were rude and said I would have to pay the past due balance and the reconnect fees to have my power restored! I asked them to LOOK at the last bill they sent and even though it was acknowledged that the bill was not due till the next day, and the past due was $0 they refused to help- then ignored me to where I said hello?? As there was silence on their end - only to be told to pay the past due balance and reconnect fee to restore power within 24 hours. Seriously?? Even my middle school age daughter who heard my conversation with the supervisor said they need to check on that, thats not a supervisor. THEN, when the supervisor hung up on me, and I hit redial - the person who answered said I had called TXU and didnt have any record of my account! I called back again, using the same number and it was indeed Ambit. This was a horrible night all due to Ambit, and all the groceries in my fridge and freezer and the groceries I purchased on my way home from work are ruined. I have had service for over 2 years With this company, and know what the statements look like, how they work, and I am not an idiot. They covered up their mistake and made me pay the price for it. Dont use AMBIT!!!

  So Ive been with this company for almost two years, well i tried to transfer my power since i moved & im in a LEGAL CONTRACT , they told me i could not transfer my power b|c they had notice to drop but it wasnt a notice from me nor did i authorize this ! I also asked when would i been noticed they stated oh you wouldve received a final bill however a final bill is not a damn notice nor do i give them permission to end my contract

!! RED FLAG!! Dont use

  The Ambit site has had some major glitches in the last couple of months. When I went to pay my bill by using my saved bank account, the page froze as if the payment didn't go through successfully. I went through the payment process again this time typing in my card. It charged me twice so I called the next day when it appeared in account activity. They said they could only send me a check in 7-14 days or I could just let it roll over. As I had a full month before my next payment, I declined this offer to let it roll over. I know that refund to my card was 100% an option for any major business and sending a check or "pre-paid card" isn't ethical business practices. I talked to a supervisor who finally said I would have a refund in 24 hours. It never came. I called today and apparently the supervisor decided to INSTEAD go ahead and apply the amount to my account which I had specifically declined. Every call has an automated message saying that the call will be recorded for "customer satisfaction"... They refused to go back and listen and just kept saying nothing was possible at this point because the amount had been applied to my account already. I have gone ahead and reported this incident to the Attorney General. I have to switch energy suppliers in a month and that will be a hassle well worth it.

Electricity Turned Off

  I have been with Ambit for about a year. I am on autopay and have used the same credit since I opened my account. Today, my electricity was turned off for non-payment. I called and was told my credit card didn't go through when they tried to charge it. Never received an email or notification of the issue. So, I put payment on the same credit card they couldn't charge - that has been tied to the account the entire time. A lot of time and "energy" wasted. Not good when you are working from home. Hope no one else has this same issue. Not fun.

  I requested new services backs in Oct. Oct 15th to be exact. I paid my deposit online. My services were supposed to be turned the next day. I called the next day to get an update and was told oh you werent approved I asked do you not call and let people know and the cs rep said no we dont do that then I had to argue with the rep about why I wanted to cancel and needed a refund. We are going on almost 3 months and I have still not received my refund. They have the worst customer service. That should shut down. They are a complete RIP OFF

  A girl that used to work at the leasing office where I live had meChoose Ambit since I was brand new to Houston.That was my first mistake. Whenever I see her next, Im going to give her earful. They have bad everything! Customers service is terrible, prices, all under the guise of shape shifting, giving you trickery to the nth degree. Im out of here the first chance I get and will choose a lesser of several evils.

  Please for the sake of God don't get ambit energy, What they do is go to Apartment manager and use them to get to you, they are scammer they over charge me and then they include miscellaneous every month for no reason, my previous apt of 2 bedroom the maximum was $76 and now moving here I switch to them and I only stay at home for 13days in a mo th and I ended up paying $97-$99. Pls stay away they are fraudster the energy commission should hold them responsible.

My lights have been out two days

  I came home to my lights off after I received no bill ! I called and ask could I get an extension til the morning. They said yes I woke up my power was off! So then I went to pay it has been 36 hour my lights ARE STILL off. They keep saying they are sending the request to oncore oncore is saying they are not! So now its literally all a waiting game ! I am torn it is freezing my food had to be thrown away because my lights have been out I am so disappointed in this cheap electricity company run for your life

Dishonest billing and business dealings..

  I have never been late paying my bill. I was less than 24hrs late on my bill for October. I paid my bill the next day which happened to be pay day and when I had scheduled to pay it anyway. When I noticed that it was late and a late fee had been added to my account, I called to address it. Seems like all their reps are remote, I could hear children in the back ground. The person I spoke with had "submitted for a refund to be allocated to my bill, and told me to pay the difference which was $12.26 less than the amount showing on my account." When I received the next months bill there was only a credit of $2.26 that had been applied to my account and the $10.00 late charge had been reallocated as another fee, which means I had a balance going forward from the previous bill, which also meant that they didn't actually credit me the fee's that they said they did, they just reallocated it to a different line item. When I called to dispute the charges, we went round and round with them not understanding that I never got the credit that they supposedly removed from my account. Which means as long as I paid what my bill showed I would always have a balance going forward. This company lies and cheats to make money. please don't buy into the hype, they are not an honest company to do business with.
