“ Mazen is excellent. He made sure my problems were fixed with care and respect. ”
“ Great rates, great service. ”
“
Have been ok, since I just signed up with them 2 years ago... like any other company their prices are competitive, read the reviews from other people saying got riped off for contract expiring and then changed to a different rate... guess what? happens with all companies if you don't call them,
that's why is called a contract period.. ”
“ I called Clearview and had a few Questions.Paolo was the lady that answered. She offered clear concise information.Did not rush me off phone. She was clearly trained professional yet she maintained her humanity.Truely a kind soul and a wonderful employee. What a great experience... ”
“ I've had Clearview as my supplier for a year and their rates were reasonable but they claimed to provide all solar power energy which i found desirable. Throughout the year they consistently mailed my letters asking that I select them--which seemed both confusing and annoying. This year the cost of solar has declined to imagine my surprise when at the end of the year term, they notified me that unless I renewed they would move to a monthly variable rate (moving from .17 per KWH to .23. My usage was lower so I resolved to see how the next couple of months went. The first month was OK but the second, with lower usage than the first monthly variable rate month and lower than the past year's comparable was stunning ($432 for a one-person household). I immediately had my meter checked and canceled Clearview as my supplier on the 22 of August. Just got my third month bill (because of administrative issues the change takes 1--2 billing cycles). Again my usage was lower but my bill was now $586 and the billing rate .389/KWH for the cycle, during a period when the cost of solar has declined! Don't ask my why--they can't explain it either. Needless to say, I'm not going back. ”
“ They may suck you in with a decent initial rate but they Chaya $10/ month fee and once your contract is up they double the price in the hope youre not paying attention. I just realized this and cut my charge by 60% with all renewable energy. ”
“
Clearview has competitive rates and it's easy to sign up. However, you can be frustrated and actually taken advantage of when renewing your supply contract. Clearview has a misleading billing policy, the kWh rate at time of renewing doesn't go into affect until months latter. The rate you think you are getting, in my case 7.09 cents/kWh was actually billed at 8.990 cents/kWh, which is their default and highest rate.
Clearview's default rate of 8.990 cents was even higher than Eversource's supply rate of 8.391 cents/kWh. Clearview's higher default supply rate stays in effect until the 3rd billing cycle, or March in my case. I calculated that I had to pay $76.02 more under this deceptive billing practice on my Dec/Jan bill. My current Electric Bill and next months negates any savings I would have had for a 6 month contract with Clearview. The bottom line is under Clearview's billing I'm actually paying more for my supply rate and wasn't told up front that their new rate doesn't go into effect at the start of the new contract.
This type of billing practice is not Clear, deceptive and is contrary to the supply rate posted; as you will pay a higher rate for at least two months out of a 6 month supply contract. ”
“ I had been with them for about a year or so, and when my 6 month fixed rate was over my rate skyrocketed when it went to their default monthly rate. I even had done a renewal with them prior to my default renewal date to make sure the new fixed rate would go into effect, and wouldnt get the default monthly rate. They first claimed you have to notify them two months in advance when submitting your renewal so you dont get their default monthly rate after initial fixed rate ends. I did do that when my new renewal was coming up so that it would be a smooth transition to the new monthly rate for billing cycles. I still received a packet in the mail recently for their monthly higher default rate. I then received a new packet a couple of weeks later stating the new low fixed rate I submitted earlier wouldnt take effect until February of next year. I spoke with a representative and now they say you have to call three months prior to your renewal date so you get the lower new rate without getting stuck with their higher default rate!! They changed their story twice. I spoke to Eversource and they stated that even though it can take 1-2 months for new fixed rate to go through, that because I did submit the renewal early enough to Clear view Energy it should have gone through at the newer lower rate. There was plenty of time for the new rate to go into effect on December. It seems like its a way for the energy provider to have you pay their default rate for at least a couple of months. They claim its regulatory rules, but like I said when I spoke with Eversource, they said that even with the 1-2 months that it can take, for the renewal rate, in this case it was not correct. ”
“ We've had Clearview for a year, because they had a competitive rate and offered 100% renewable with no fees. I was interested in renewing for a year but unbelievably, they cannot seem to make it happen. I tried 3 times to login to my account online. The site didn't recognize my password even though it's correct. I clicked "forgot my password" each time but never got an email to reset. I tried calling customer service. Both times it said there was a 2 min wait, but after 15 min I hung up. I sent an email to customer service saying I just wanted to sign up for more service, but if I couldn't get a response, I would choose an alternative. Guess what I got -- yup, nothing. If they could provide even a hint of service I'd stay, but now I'm concerned that if this is how they respond to requests for business, I'll never get help if I actually have a problem. ”
“ In terms of names for a company, I'm not sure there has ever been a greater misnomer. They will entice you with lower entry rates and give very little notice when these rates are about to expire. My electric bill more than tripled for the supplier charge this month from .1139/kw hr to .3899/ kw hr. This is .12 /kw hr higher than what was quoted it was going to be 2 days before billing cycle began. My advice is to stay away, find another supplier who will be more transparent as Clearview is anything but. ”
“ Clearview gets you to switch with their low-rate contract term. However, they give you NO NOTICE of what the variable rate will be when that contract expires. After my Clearview contract expired, my rate skyrocketed from $0.1109 to $0.2009 per kWh - that's an 81% increase! And the "price to compare" from PSE&G was only $0.1261 for that period. Clearview's variable rate is larcenous, plain and simple! Don't get caught! ”
“
A Clearview sales agent came to my door and had me sign up for the program having convinced me that all I was doing was just "updating my energy supplier" and that it was something that would eventually happen with the whole neighborhood. It was a dirty trick, I fell for it, and I blame myself mostly.
The contract that I signed had a period of two weeks where I could renege if I called, which I did after reading the reviews. I called twice: first to cancel, second to make sure the cancel was processed. Both within the first few days after signing.
I get my bill three months later and Clearview is my supplier. They didn't process my cancelation and I ended up paying much more than I should have.
Avoid Clearview like it's the plague. ”
“
They charge me .13 cent per kw instead of .09 kw sent sent some to my home address to resign and promise the price would be if but will not if anything
Closed the account ”
“ I recently reviewed my bill to notice that Clearview was supplying my electric. I was unaware i was signed up with them. I called them and asked when that took place and who signed up. They could not provide any proof that we signed up with them. I nor my wife signed up. Watch out for this company. ”
“ The person who wrote about the bad customer service is right! I called to ask about their rate and probably switch to their service but after being told in the automated message that I was number 1 in line and my wait time would be 1 minute ten minutes went by with no one answering. I hung up and will not try again. With that kind of customer service you have to wonder what kind of company it really is and be fairly sure that when you need to change your plan or question your rate they will not be there to assist you. ”
“
My last bill they charged me $.20 and $0.23 per kilowatt hour
That double PPL rates. ”
“ At the end of contract term, Clearview more than quadrupled kW rate without notice. Called and agreed to renew contract if they would prorate the rate hike. They refused. I paid the $980 bill (usually $200) and parted ways. Now they call me twice a week and ask if I'll come back. No. ”
“ In January of 2024, Clearview sent me a bill of $1,702.26. During my first year with them, my rate was at 0.1079 reasonable and affordable. After my first year, they put me on an adjusted rate that skyrocketed by more than double my first year rate resulting in the drastic increase of my bill. My bill went from $124-$156 per month to $1,702.26 per month. As a small business owner, I do not have the ability or funds to pay for it. I called Clearview to see my options of whether my bill could be lowered or for help with the bill but they refused to help me. Every time I called, they said a supervisor or manager was not available and was in a meeting. Do not use Clearview energy because they do not care about their customers and will not attempt to help you with your needs. Clearview electric has been nothing but a pain and I will not return to their services. I am just letting people know not to use clear services. ”
“ when my contract ended the next bill was more than doubled without any notification ”
“ They gave me the run around for 3 months. Charging me 24.99 cents a klw when they said I would get a rate of 0.07 a month. When I call they say I will have someone call you back and they never call. When i asked about the rate the say ops yea we made a mistake we will fix it by your next bill, but you have to pay the 200 you owe now. I ask to talk to a manager and they say not available. I ask why are they not available no answer. Keep saying they will call you. I said I am doe with you. They said but you have a contract. I say there's no contract because you did not live up to your end. Put a fork in me I ma so done. ”
