“ This is the worst warranty service ever, I thought car warranties were bad. I have tried to use this plan three times and not one of them was covered. I have the max plan to include appliances and carried this from my old house to new house. So going over 10 years at least. First item...dishwasher. Based on discussion over phone, would not even come look at it. Today microwave mounted, it is not covered because it is not a mounted oven. Fridge do you know where the leak is coming from....if I knew I would be calling. The money I have put in this plan all this years has been an absolute waste. Definitely one for social media. ”
“ My contract is up at the end of April. I called them 4/9 to not renew the contract. They said they don't have a way to do that, and I have to call back closer to end of April. Explained that I just don't want to renew my contract once term is over at the end of April. Again, they don't have a way to do that, they could try to put in this request, but not sure if it will be accepted. Told me I have to call back closer to the end of April. They are basically hoping I forget to call back so they can auto-renew my contract. Very shady business practice and not to be trusted!! ”
“ During the summer, a representative knocked on my door asking for my information, informing me they were the new supplier in the area and needed to update my meter. I believed the deceit. Months later I learn they are charging me over the average rate that AEP themselves offer. I canceled, and on my next bill I received a $150 early termination charge. I was not aware of this charge, not when I signed up or when I cancelled. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable behavior. Be honest about your fees. I cancelled because I couldn't afford the overpriced fee, and you charge me an arm and a leg. ”

After reading the reviews, I am oh so glad I did this so quickly. They showed up at my door telling me that my company was in the process of switching my SCO rate from them to another company and the price would go up to over $8 per MCF. The deal they had me sign up for was for $6/MCF. This morning, I decided to do some checking on things and noticed right away something was wrong as my current SCO rate is just under $4/MCF and, since it is based on the stock exchange, the likelihood of that EVER reaching $8 is practically impossible. So, after looking over the Apples-to-Apples website, I found a fixed rate at my current SCO rate and set a request to switch to them.
So, moral of this story, if IGS Energy shows up at your door, tell them to leave, immediately. The only reason I even entertained them (I have a no solicitation sign on my property) is because I thought they were with Enbridge, because they said they were. I plan on also contacting PUCO and Enbridge and letting them know they have a company going around pretending to be Enbridge to scam people into signing contracts. ”
“ DO NOT allow them to provide your energy. When you switch from them they charge you an EARLY CANCELLATION Fee. I got 2 bills, each for $99. To do what? Type something in a computer. Stay with DUKE ENERGY if u r in Ohio. ”
“ Was told at my door i could save money, man also said he was from my local gas company. A Lie. My cost increased by 35% and my current budget is lost. I should of done my research vs trusting someone. BBB is full of negative issues with IGS energy. ”
“ The pushy door to door salesman told me one thing, and my bills have doubled!!! Now I'm getting an early termination fee, after they lied and they can kiss my butt! ”
“ Somehow my gas got switched to igs over the summer so I didnt know I was paying 85 cents per ccf until I got an over 400 dollar bill I called igs and they said to cancel I would have to pay $150 which is crazy cause I never signed up they said a guy came to my house and gave me his name and said because I opened an email sent by this guy I would have to pay after I got off the phone I put igs in my search bar in my email and saw I had 3 emails NOT opened and the name wasnt the guys name that they told me super shady so I called back and told them I never opened the emails I could send them pictures and they said I was lying I could make them look like I never opened them smh I dont even know how this company is in business I would never agree to pay that much they have to have one of the highest rates out there! Not sure what they are doing to scam people but they got me this time. Customer service was not helpful and kept changing the reason I had to pay cancelation fee and on their website it says they dont have cancellation fees so thats weird. I will be paying close attention to my bill from now on to make sure I never get switched to igs again they are the WORST! ”
“ Door to door sales came to my house. Lied to me about costs, I canceled within 24 hours which is a legal right. Three months later they started putting charges through my bank account. SCAMMERS!!! Beware of any business dealings with these people. ”
“ I have been with them for almost 2 years. I was locked to a rate , for way too long I was stuck with that rate when ever one else was lower. They are one of the few that make you pay 150 cancelation fee. I switched to someone else to no fees and igs called and was extremely rude to me for MY choice and then hung up on me. Very un professional and I will never go through them again and tell everyone not to. You just don't do that ”
“ Come to my door saying he needed to "Update my PPL and UGI bill". When I asked for state ID (anyone can make a badge), he said he didn't have any with him (yeah right). Then he ran away. Got a picture of his badge. Name is Cassidy Richardson (or so the badge said). ”
“ I experienced an unfortunate incident at the entrance of my apartment. A person identifying himself as a "Senior Territory Manager" for "my energy company" persuaded me to sign a document to "update account information." After reviewing his business card, I conducted further research and contacted customer support later that day to cancel the engagement. I hope my prompt action will help me avoid any cancellation fees. The representative did not provide any specific figures, which leads me to believe that I am unlikely to receive a better offer from this supplier. I kindly request not to be approached at my door in the future. ”
“ Company is a giant set of scams. The individual who came to the door to sign up for the account claimed that their rate would be cheaper than the previous rate I was paying. 1st bill came and it was not in fact cheaper as promised. In talking with customer service they claimed they would in fact cancel my account and waive the early termination fee. When I got my final bill from AEP using IGS what was on the bill but the Early Termination fee again. I had to call a second time to get that waved. Meanwhile the complaint with PUCO was closed when they claimed the salesperson who came to my door no longer worked for them less than 2 months after they signed me up and they told PUCO they were waiving the fee then as well. Do not answer the door or talk with this company. ”
“
Horrible! First of all I only wanted my natural gas to be handled by igs. I was '
Muscled' Into having
My electric switched even after I explained to the man that I would be charged $150 cancelation fee from my current supplier. Well quess what?!?! I was. So, I switched back to Clean SKY energy at a LOWER rate than igs. Well now I get a bill for $99.00 from igs for early termination even though it had only been a week. Now I get daily calls from THEM saying an unauthorized change has been made to my account . Well, if THEY would just simply listen to ONE of the FOUR voice mails that I left, this could stop affecting me as it is very annoying! The number is the account managers private number and for some reason he feels that my calls are not important . This company is...(I am a lady and can not describe or gripe about my true feelings about igs as they may be offensive towards most of the readers). People, just be careful or simply just avoid igs all together. ”
“ My elderly father signed up for IGS Energy as an energy distribution company a year before he passed away. Shortly after he passed, we got telephone calls and mail correspondence asking for him to renew for an additional year. I informed the company that he was deceased and we would be changing the electric utility into my Mother's name. I never got around to changing it. A few months later, I saw some paperwork on my Mom's table. The IGS Energy folks came to my Mother's house and had her sign to not only keep IGS Energy for her electric, but added her gas utility as well. I asked her if she explained that her name wasn't on the utilities and that my Dad had passed away. She said the IGS Energy person was pushy and didn't care. I called the next day and talked to the supervisor of the person who came to the house. I explained that she was in no state to make decisions about utility suppliers and I was the power of attorney. The man told me I could cancel at any time with no cancelation fees. The first few months, the rate was fine, but after a few months, the rates were sky high. I called to cancel, they told me that I had to wait until the contract was up in June, 2024 (8 months longer) or pay a cancelation fee. I waited until this month, June, 2024 and called back to cancel. I was told that I could cancel, but they needed to talk to my Dad. I explained that he was deceased. They told me to send in a copy of the death certificate and my power of attorney to customerservice@IGSEnergy.com, since his name was still on the utility bills. I asked what would happen if an elderly person was asked to do these things and didn't have either the capability or the access to scan and upload documents. The customer service representative replied that in that case, as long as the utility accounts were active, IGS Energy would be their distribution supplier forever. I cancelled my Dad's utility accounts the same day. I should have done it earlier, but I didn't want the hassle. Overall, I guess it was my fault, but IGS Energy is only out to make money by any means necessary. ”
“ Listened to the solar pitch, signed to get more info and fortunately stopped before the soft credit check. I had an appointment scheduled to continue the process and had to cancel for a minor emergency. Received the rudest and most unhinged text diatribe from the salesman that it made me uneasy. Would he have sent it to a man? Im betting a hard NO. These people are predatory and relentless, dont even open the door. ”
“ Beware that when your contract ends your rate will go up significantly. Unfortunately the process to switch back to incompetent Washington Gas may take months and in the meantime you will pay double the rate. ”
“ I worked for these guys for a while. Stay far away. If youre really desperate for a cheaper utility bill, then just go on papowerswitch.com and sign up for the cheapest *fixed* rate (which is never igs). Its very hard to cancel with igs without having to pay a fee or a higher utility rate. ”
“ IGS came to my door and talked me into signing up, didn't tell me there was an early cancel fee. We'll by the time I got my paper work I noticed the early cancel fee two weeks after I agreed to sign up. Not only that but I did the bundle with gas and they're price was twice as much. The representative told me my gas and electric would drop by 20 percent. Not the case ”
“ This company is conducting fraudulent business. After six months of not paying attention to my bill, I decided to take a look and saw that I had a new supplier, IGS Energy who was charging me significantly more than my previous supplier. I called them, and to my surprise, they claimed that my wife signed a contract when a sales representative came to our door. The problem is that my wife never did, and I'm locked into a 3 year contract with an early termination fee of $199.00 for both my electric and my gas. I have asked for a copy of the contract which was supposed to be emailed to me and I am still waiting for that contract. It's absurd to think that a sales representative can come to your home, claimed to have gotten a signature to switch suppliers and now I'm bonded by this ridiculous contract. I bare some responsibility for not checking my bill monthly, but the nerve of this company to switch my supplier without my actual permission is devious and outright criminal. Their account department is claiming that I waited too long to contact them so they can only waive one of the two termination fees. At this point, its probably worth keeping the contract, but I'll cut my losses so I won't have to deal with this company. They informed me that the sales representative, Jason is no longer with the company, but only God knows how many others he would have scammed to gain his commission. ”
