“ An Inspire employee came to my mom's house on 6/6/2022. Mom is elderly and lives alone. The employee used high pressure tactics to try and get my mom to switch. She called me while the employee was there and put him on the phone with me. He falsely stated that mom was currently a customer of Inspire (she isn't) and that he was there to "make sure she wasn't switched without her consent to another supplier". The man insisted that I tell him the details from mom's bill to confirm this. I said we're not interested in switching and that I did not appreciate someone bothering mom at her home. The employee stated that he was sent because we didn't respond to a mailing. I told him to please leave. He refused and stated that if I couldn't provide him with the billing info to confirm our supplier, he or someone else from Inspire would keep coming back until we did. This was threatening and unethical behavior. I told him again he needed to leave or I would contact the police. He finally relented but then accused my mom of being racist before storming off. This was unprofessional, illegal sales tactics involving fraud. And it was trespassing as he remained even after I told him to leave the premises. I will be contacting the state utilities commission about this. And the police will be called if any Inspire employee sets foot on my mom's property again. ”
“ Showed up at my door! Refused to leave..demanded to see my bill. Very rude. ”
“ I was approachd by representative outside my house. He assured me that only was it cleaner more reliable energy but, it was going to cost me less on my energy bill. That is not true the one time that you get any kind of a discount is when they charge the 6999 or whatever it is on that first month as opposed to whatever the charges for the supply. The distribution which comes through your carrier in my case BG&E whether its budget billing or not its always through them also the gas is always for them which I also did not understand. This company is basically scamming you and charging you as much as $.12 a kilowatt as opposed to eight cents on my PG&E. When I asked the lady if you want to keep me as a customer And asked how are you helping me she just goes back to that its a reliable energy source. Pain in my ass, not very helpful and lost my business ”
“ They were very deceptive with their prices, said it was going to be $39, it was increased to $119 a month, from the beginning. How did it go up so much!!! Horrible!!! They intentionally mislead. ”
“ I don't even know yet how much money Inspire robbed me of, but it seems possible it's well over $4000. I apparently agreed by phone in July 2017 to a "contract" (never saw a contract though) and never received anything from them - no notices of contract expiration, nothing. Just learned they have been increasing my rate to, now, 2.5 times the standard rate. I'm livid. I can't afford to have thousands stolen from me. I've filed a complaint with the PUC. ”
“ Long story short I had a contracted fixed term price for 6 months from 7/7/21 through 1/7/22 and they started billing me a higher rate on 12/17/21 and are attempting to not issue the rightful credit. The overcharge was only $54.14 but its significant and this company is trying to be unethical about it. DO NOT USE THEM OEBYOU WILL REGRET IT. I wont be paying them this amount. Only what is legitimately Sue to them. Very shady and unethical. ”
“ Members from Inspire show up at your door wearing Inspire golf shirts. Saying they can tell by looking at your electric bill if you are using fossil fuels primarily for your electric service. They say they just want to look at it and if it says basic generation service they can change it so its renewable energies. What they are not telling you it is they are changing your electric provider to Inspire Energy Holdings LLC. ”
“ Showed up at my door, looked at my electric bill and said they could do it cheaper. During the sign up process they kept speaking over the automated voice so I couldnt hear anything it was saying. Very sketchy. Looks like I lucked out after reading these reviews, guess they entered a number wrong because I kept getting emails about it. Dont do it people ”
“ I love when their employees come knocking on your door and demand to see your electric bill and threaten to send someone else out to see MY bill like Im gonna get right on that. ”
“ I was walking into the grocery store when a very pleasant young man approached me and asked me if I had received my free grocery card yet. From there we were off to the races. He fast talked every question I had, and discouraged me from reading the fine print. I put the lavish on the deal before the final signature. Scum ”
“ Since I could not write a review until I received my first bill, here it is, my bill increased $56 per month. ”
“
Was told my bill would be lower. That I can choose my supplier. Made my current electric company out to be cheating me because they didnt tell me I could choose a supplier and use clean energy.
My bill has skyrocketed. For 2 months it was 50 bucks but after that its been 250 to inspire each month. I am canceling this ASAP. ”
“ This place is a joke. The prices are set and have nothing to do with usage, only to do with what they feel like charging on a given day. The salespeople admit they know nothing. If I log in with different browsers or devices, prices vary. I input an address with incredibly low usage vs an address with high usage 25 miles away and was given the same rate because it "calculated the usage". Hm, odd, that doesn't seem possible. It's especially not possible when they're not even looking into the account. You are not being given a special price at all. You are not being treated as an individual. They are giving out what they feel like. Also, the most common plans are 99, 114, 119, and 125. I am going to bet someone quoted you one of those numbers. ”
“ They mention a flat rate, but it only applies to the "supply" cost on your electric bill, you still have to pay the delivery/distribution charges and taxes to your normal energy provider (as indicated by their contract/terms and conditions). At least in my case, this would have resulted in my total electric bill being much more expensive than it is currently. If you happen to get coerced while you are out there, you have 3 days to rescind/cancel (at least in Maryland, may vary by state), so it should be easy enough to undo any damage. ”
“ Doubled rates after the initial period with no notification ($0.20 /kWh is ridiculous). Absolute scam of a company. Harassed me by phone and email after I cancelled asking why I did, as if it should have been any surprise. ”
“
Salesperson promised to give 50 dollars Amex just to talk to him . He said no strings attached and thT will get my gift card whether I sign up or not .
I went ahead and signed up until I realized they are crooks and out to make money off vulnerable people .
When I called
To check on my 50 dollars they apologized for the Salesman inexperience and for telling me thT I would get the gift card regardless of signing up .
The lady on the phone hit me up with language like rules
and regulations bs and when I told her thT would
Write bad review she said to go ahead and do S she didnt care .
Customers beware of this company . ”
“ They are liars and scammers. My elector bill skyrocketed because of them after a sales person told me they could help lower our bill absolutely awful ”
“ The sales person who does not even introduce himself as a sales rep, misleads you to make you believe this is part of the state to become green and they are just making sure you get clean energy. LIE! You are actually signing up to a service with a lot of misled and fake information most likely from the rep who are usually very pushy and aggressive to get you to sign up. Its also very intrusive the fact that they come to your house and try to scam you as Ive had at least 7 of them come already and they wont leave! Which I feel its harassment. Unless you say a thousand times, they wont leave. You literally have to shut the door in their faces at point for them to leave you alone and leave your home. The reps dont even leave their masks on and grab your phone without even asking for permission and get really close to you. The rep also Kept asking me very personal questions such as how much I make weekly with my job and kept looking at my phone. Also he wouldnt let me read the terms of the contract that he said was just to make sure I was at least 18. Another lie!! That contract was an agreement to get the service. I could on for hours on how many Kira he said. All of the approach and service is just beyond wrong, disrespectful and a complete lie/scam. If they want to sell a service, at least come clean about and tell the truth about what your trying to sell and let the people decide on whether they want to get it or not, dont just straight up lie about it. ”
“ I was flat out LIED to by a male in BJs wholesale, Reading PA. Told me electric bill would be a flat rate 129.99 every month, no matter what. Well, that's just for the distribution charge. Total liar, electric bill is almost 300 a month now compared to maybe 150 when I just had PPL do everything. Scammed for a full year, and NOT PLEASED. ”
“ DO NOT ENROLL IN INSPIRE, especially if you live in Maryland. You are paying for nothing. My bill this past month was $188 for electric charges to Pepco and $430.98 to inspire for supply charges. YOU DO NOT NEED a 3rd party supplier - INSPIRE - in Maryland. Pepco has informed me my total bill for electricity would only be $188, no charge for "supply". Basically I am paying $488 to Inspire for NOTHING! ”
