“ We switched to Provision power and gas because they said it was going to be cheaper than Consumers. They are not we have been paying a dollar more than Consumers!!!!! When I finally realized why our natural gas bill was way more than it used to be, I called Provision and the lady I spoke with was very rude. She was trying to put my concern about being charged extra per month for what Consumers was already doing for us, she got a attitude and said she was going to try to request my cancellation. What a rip off!!!! She said they would not give me any of my money back or nothing. Please do not answer the door if they come to your house! ”
“ Employee came to my door asking to see my DTE bill, claimed 3 different times while I was talking to him that he was a DTE employee. Asked to see my bill and said I was being overcharged for my gas and that he would contact them to correct it. Received a notice in the mail a week later saying that I was switching gas companies. Super shady. ”
“ I just had a salesman come to my door asking to see my bill, and claiming that DTE was charging my neighbors a "gas recovery fee" erroneously (this is a real charge, but it's legit). He implied that he was already my service provider and said he could help recover money that DTE wrongly charged me. I told him I wasn't able to go over my bill then, and asked if he had contact info he could give me. He gave me a form with a phone number. The form was for transferring my account to Provision P&G for a "low introductory rate" which would expire after the first month, conveniently when my ability to cancel my agreement with them without having to pay a cancellation fee ended (you have 30 days to cancel). No mention of how much the cancellation fee is, but I'll bet it's huge. I'm guessing he wanted to get my account number, name and address off my bill, and then switch me without my permission. This is scammy behavior. ”
