“ I received a letter in 12/2021 that NRG does not support Net Metering and that if I need to contact customer service to make changes to my acct to contact them - so I did, by phone (No One Answers - on hold for 20+ mins before I hung) - so sent an email to Customer Service, never got a response. ”
“
I called to cancel them because it was coming out too expensive, they canceled my electric but not my gas, and when I called to cancel my gas with this company, my bill was delayed a lot and I received two bills in one, twice.
I received my latest bill, after months of waiting for final adjustments, and it's over $600, so I call BGE to find out why and it so happens that this company wasn't sending my meter readings to BGE since July 2021. ”
“ I never signed up for this service. Was told I signed up at Walmart, with an email address and phone number that weren't mine. Have been waiting for a response from a supervisor from NRG with no contact. NRG representative told me that independent contractors at stores will do this to get commission checks. Hours on the phone to "cancel" a contract I never entered, is infuriating. ”
“ promise .06 per/kwh, I never notice till I look at the bill. NRG was charging me .081 per/kwh ”
“ I switched to nrg 5 months ago and my bills become higher $ 30-40 its scam you should watch for sales persons specially those at the food market they only Want thier commission ”
“ Ripoff. Their little tricks of a cheap gift card shall be paid back ten fold within a year. They're a useless middle man ”
“ I was paying mover 8x the amount I should be with these frauds. Never again. Taking from the poor. DISGUSTING ”
“ Don't waste your time there are better companies. ”
“ They doubled my rate with no nonfiction. Call and was told there was nothing I could do about it. Call utility company and stop all payments. ”
“ NRG bribes you with gift cards for the store your shopping in. They promise you super low rates then after a few months they raise their rates extremely high! When I called to speak about this all of their employees were rude. You can tell they hate their job. Probably because everyone hates their company. They must get 1000 complaints a day and they do not do anything to satisfy the customer! Imagine a normal gas bill in the winter being around $80 then add another $70 if you have NRG! Why have NRG?? Just stick to peoples gas alone and save yourself half the bill! ”
“ On 7/19/21 I made the mistake of enrolling with a salesperson while shopping at Walmart. The salesperson looked up my rate online and showed me that NRG's rate was more than 20% lower than my current rate through Duke Energy. When I got home, I reviewed my latest bill and the rate I was paying was actually lower than NRG's rate. I immediately filed NRG's "Notice of Cancellation" form via email. They responded that they could not cancel it, that I had to call Duke Energy (current supplier) to cancel. I called Duke Energy on 7/20/21, explained the situation and they told me that they would take care of it. On 7/27/21 I got a letter from Duke stating that NRG would be my new supplier unless I called Duke to cancel. I called Duke on 7/28/21 to cancel NRG for the second time. Hopefully this is the end of it. ”
“
Stay away from them! There bullshit promise is good for 6 months but then hiked way up above variable,..then 60 days to cancel and they raise it even further!
Stick with aep or shop around ! ”
“ They are thief. Lied to me that my energy bill would go down if I chose them as a service provider. It went up 200%. Later heard from other people that they are fraud. ”
“ I don't remember signing up but it was only after reviewing my outrageous bill in detail did I realize that NRG was charging me $0.119/KWH when PECO's pricing was $0.0640...nearly double the costs and I had been paying that rate for over 2 years. Shame on me for not looking at my bill closely but shame on them for charging nearly double PECO's rates. In all, I think I paid nearly $2,000 more than I should have for the past 24 months! ”
“ Was shopping in Walmart and was approach but NRG salesman. Was told if I gave my information I was only signing up to receive info and was to receive $20 Walmart gift card. Did not receive gift card and starting receiving emails thanking me for signing up for an account. When I called they confirmed I had indeed signed up. Do not fall for this. Especially when they say they are using your drivers license only to validate you are a Duquesne Light customer. Scam!!! When I called to ensure it was cancelled I asked for my gift card and there was no way for them to give me one. ”
“ An NRG rep came to my door and I I declined their services. 5 months later I get an email from aep stating my transmission is to be changed to nrg home. Door to door scammers. ”
“ I signed up for NRG and was told I would be a customer. I was never enrolled and when i checked back later to check my status and re enroll the per unit cost had elevated. My experience was no experience as the company did not folloow through. ”
“ As many others of talked about in their reviews, the company's business model appears to be attract you into an introductory offer, then charge obscenely high rates in the hope that you will pay your bills without paying attention. In my case, I have been paying .10790/kwh for the electricity portion of my bill, while PECO rates were .0627/kwh. When I called NRG, they wanted to offer me a new promotional rate.....I guess this works for someone who will stay on top of their tactics, but not for me. As it turns out, I have been paying out of market rates for many years. ”
“ Your bill will always change, the prices continually go up, this company is a rip off. DO NOT USE. STAY AWAY from NRG. Your bill will be extremely high and they won't help. ”
“
I talk to one of there employees at Walmart west Chester oh. After he went with me all over the kWH charges
He stated that I ll save lot of money by switching from duke energy to NRG
At the end I was not confident I left without signing anything
He said anyway you ll receive a call from 800 number if you agree to switch to NRG give them the ok
I received many call from the 800 number but did not answer none of them.
Since the day I talk to this employee my electrical bill went up every month till I reached the bill of $480 I called duke energy they said that s because of the third party supplier that I did not even I had.
I was paying my bill without even checking what s in there
Instead of getting charged for 0.054 kwh I was charged for 0.094 kwh for the last 6 months.
Please everyone whose reading my review do not sign with please. ”
