CleanSky Energy is a terrible company who is out to rob their customers. I will never do business with them again. I signed up for a fixed 3 month agreement and unfortunately forgot to sign up again or switch companies before they were able to spike a ridiculous variable rate to eventually 4x what I had originally signed up for. I never received notice/reminder ahead of the expiration, just my original sign up email. I contacted them and they claim they sent me additional reminder emails, but somehow I never received them even though I received the sign up email just fine. They also told me my phone number wasnt attached to an account, but then when they looked me up by address they found my number was there after all, so how can I trust that they actually sent me reminder emails. Ultimately its my mistake, but its sad a company this large is out to get people like this. A 4x jump is unnecessary and only compounded that it was during winter months when our electric use was at its peak. I hope they enjoy the few extra hundred dollars they got out of me and lose out much more in the long run from my business and hopefully others who read this. ”

We make every effort to notify our customers when their plan is due to expire and provide them with renewal options. Our records show that you spoke with an agent regarding this matter and they were able to confirm that your fixed contract expired and contract expiration notices were sent to you. Because your service was not renewed upon the expiration of your contract your account defaulted to a month-to-month variable rate on 01/06/2021. Upon your request the agent submitted a cancellation for your electric service, your account with CleanSky Energy is scheduled to return to your utility, PPL on 03/05/2021. A sales representative for this company came to my front door claiming to be my provider from National Grid. I never had a provider. He said he wanted to see my current bill for maintenance and that I'd get a $50 gift card for complying. He openly lied to me and tricked me into signing up for an energy paln with this company. I've tried emailing and calling this company numerous times in the last week to rescind this without any rate changes or fees and no one ever answers. I was left on hold TWICE for over half an hour just to be brought to voicemail where no one responded. This company and its practices are horrible. ”

I am 20 years old with twin daughters and no income, the bill the sent me this month was more than my mortgage and I cant pay it. I have a shut off notice for February 24, less than 10 days. And they wont call me back. Because of them I will have to MOVE OUT OF MY HOUSE because I cant stay here with my daughters with no electric and I cant get ahold of these people nor can I afford $250 ( half )just to stop it from shutting off. I DONT HAVE IT. I waited on hold for 20 minutes just for them to tell me to leave a voicemail. Then waited for another 7 minutes just for them to do the same thing. Im hysterical and I cant even get these people to talk to me. ”

A Complete Rip-Off. Charged 3x what AEP's rates were

I have been trying to get an answer since December 19th, as to why Clean Sky Energy was on our AEP bill, especially since I was told they were charging me 3x the AEP rate. After many calls, each time in which I was told they would check and call me back within 24 - 48 hours (never happened). Their first response was "we have the phone call on record and will pull it". (never happened). After this response to my call, their next responses to my several calls were "the department that handles this hasn't responded to our request and we will have to "accelerate the request", we will call you back within 24-48 hours (never happened). Then their responses to my calls were "we will call you back by the end of the day" (I waited at home all day, never happened). Then their responses were we can't find the phone call. It's been too long and we don't keep them that long. After negotiating a refund (not near enough but I accepted it), I was told I would have a check within 7 - 14 days (never happened). It has now been 21 days and no check and when I e-mailed the lady that relayed the agreement info to me she said she would have to e-mail the department that takes care of the checks and would e-mail me back when she heard from them. It's been 3 days and no response. How long does it take to find out if and when a check has been mailed. It's just the same stall tactic hoping I will give up. ”

Being told by a salesperson knocking on my door saying he's from PSE&G and hell knows how did I end up enrolled into this company! I used to pay 12 cents/kwh, and they charge 19.99 cents/kwh on the contract. BUT, they actually charged me 21cents/kwh on the bill, and my bill almost doubled ever since. This price is nowhere close to being competitive to other providers as they claim on the website and by the sales.
And if you want to cancel, sorry, we gonna charge you another $50!!!
