“ When I enrolled, I was disappointed that I didn't get a confirmation e-mail and other than the confirmation info on your website (which I had to cut and paste into an e-mail to myself), I haven't heard another word. ”
“ Well, if you can get past the customer service representative, you may do alright with Energy Harbor. I had to repeat my natural gas company's service account number for a total of 4 times. Energy Harbor's customer representative could not get it straight and then became defensive as I was pressed for time! I slowed down, phonetically spelled each letter, clearly enunciated each numeral and guess what? Wrong when repeated back by the representative. If it wasn't for the agreeable service plan, I would have cancelled the order after this nerve wracking ordeal. ”
“ Energy Harbor originally accepted my request for service, but within two months CANCELLED my service. I will NOT EVERY recommend them to anyone. ”
“ Just got applied yesterday and they are asking me for a review. They should ask me a year from now. ”
“ low rating for 1st 2 categories as I just signed up ”
“ letter received in February did not list any options to review let alone change contract terms or KWH costs. Needed to find independent source to compare company with other suppliers/contract terms. ”
“ Annually, I review my options for an electricity supplier. My choice is based on the cost per kw. Harbor Energy provided the best option. Selecting the company online was easy and direct. Usually I have experienced a delay between the application and the provider company response to take me on as a customer. Harbor Energy responded promptly and accepted me as a customer. I now await the promised documentation of the contract. ”
“ I was fooled into thinking Energy Harbor would be cheaper than Ameran but my bill is 33% higher. ”
“ Received letter in mail from Energy Harbor saying my community chose them. Thinking it was a scam I opted out. After receiving information that I should choose a company I called to opt back in. Lady whose English I could barely understand and bad connection (I heard every other word she said) told me I wasn't eligible for promotion in the letter I received after all. She signed me up for a different one. Next morning I got an email from Energy Harbor saying I'm not eligible for what lady signed me up for the day before. WHY would she do that??? Called back, different lady said she needs to look into the letter I got to see why I wasn't signed up for promotion in the letter and I need to wait a week to hear back. Over a week went by, no one called or emailed me, so I called Energy Harbor again! Lady said I wasn't able to get promotion in letter, doesn't know why, and signed me up for another promotion. Finally I was approved. Why did Energy Harbor send me a letter telling me I was eligible for something I wasn't wasn't? Why did it take me three phone calls, ending up talking to three different customer service people to get help? ”
“ They sent me a number of spam emails asking for reviews for a simple sign up 'experience'. I'm expecting them to ask me to give them a 15% tip next. ”
“ have no opinion other than the process to sign up is easy not had any other contact w/ company yet. ”
“ I was unhappy with Energy Harbor when my contract ended. They said they would continue me if I did nothing at around $7.6 per kilowatt hour, when they were offering plans at 5.99 and 6.5 or so. They seem to be hoping that customers will do nothing and thus pay more. Then when I signed up for the 5.99 plan and got a email confirmation, I later got a notice from Ohio Edison that Energy Harbor notified them they were "ending their contract with you." I called and emailed them but they never fixed it. The rep said she would call me today at 8AM but never did. I thus went to a different provider at the 5.99. ”
“ I got the renewal letter from Energy Harbor informing me that my new rate will be .1186 starting in July. I am currently paying .10890. Before renewing I checked PAPowerswitch.com and was shocked to find that Energy Harbor is offering the same plan for new customers at .09390. When I called their number I was given two plan options which were more expensive (and longer terms). When I mentioned the Powerswitch price, I was told I would have to cancel my current plan and re-apply to get the better rate. So, they won't give me the customer service of just switching me over to the same rate they offer new customers. I have to do it myself. I've been with them for a year now, so I'm an established customer with a solid payment history. I suppose I could do it myself, but since I have to re-apply somewhere, I might as well look for better rates elsewhere. This is a lousy way to treat existing customers. And, I fear they will take advantage of senior customers by assuming they will just go ahead and renew at higher rates. Maybe all the energy companies play this game, but I don't have to play Energy Harbor's bait and switch game. ”
“ Collecting maximum amount without concern about sr citizens ”
“ It took over an hour to cancel service with EH. The conversation is recorded, and the customer is ONLY ALLOWED TO SPEAK YES OR NO. If I spoke one other word or answered NO to a question about what they were asking, we had to start all over. I was told to save my questions for after we were finished, AFTER Id already said YES to all the questions. SO, I cannot get the questions in advance, and can only answer YES to them on a recorded message PRIOR to knowing the questions. I cannot take my recorded answers back!! At the end of each question, I was asked a demeaning, DO YOU UNDERSTAND? HORRIBLE POLICIES!! ”
“ Ive not received any information other than the confirmation number ”
“ When I contacted Energy Harbor I was not made aware of their lowest fixed rate. Once I discovered their lower rate , I had to contact them again. Very frustrating. ”
“ Serviced never switched from IGS to Harbor ”
“ Signed up on line got letter saying there was a problem with the energy supplier then nothing more. A couple cold calls but that is not the way I signed up last time ”
“
Upon reviewing EH's end-of-contract notification I was displeased to see they were attempting an automatic renewal at a price 50% greater than their current online offering. My 1st reaction was to cancel, however, the required cancellation notification form was not included in either of the 2 mailings, nor was it readily available online repeated calls to the customer service number were promptly passed to a recording telling me all customer service personnel were busy. That aside, I chose their 18 month plan going forward because the price was competitive.
I would have preferred not to be a repeat customer due to what I considered an untoward automatic renewal offering, but they had structured such a cumbersome termination process I had no time to do otherwise. ”
