2 years and finally billed
“
After two years, I received a bill from my utility provider, Peco, which I found concerning. I have attempted to resolve various issues by calling multiple times but often end up stuck on hold until their closing hours (5-7pm) or conversing with staff who seem to avoid addressing my questions directly.
In 2023, I was informed by a representative that I could enroll in autopay, and I agreed however, I never received a bill or statement for the following two years. Peco's policy typically involves sending notices after two months when a bill does not go through, so the sudden bill of $10,000 with a reinstatement fee of $9,000 feels extremely disproportionate. To clarify, I live in a small manufactured home, where I have resided for the past eight years.
Additionally, I have been experiencing ongoing issues with an outside breaker that has been malfunctioning. Despite bringing this up to both Peco and my maintenance service, I have received little support, with each party pointing fingers at the other. The responses I've received have been unhelpful, as I was told that the breaker is new and functioning properly, despite repeated instances of it popping. I have recordings of all conversations in my attempts to resolve these matters. ”

SCAMMERS
“ So I have not had issues in the past with this promotion and signing up with this company. They usually get you when you are in Walmart. So yesterday I signed up at the Walmart with the associate and was told Id receive a Walmart gift card for $20. Well it never arrived in my email and called them and I was told that the associate never sent it and that the customer service representative I spoke with said he couldnt issue me one that I would have to return to the Walmart and hope that the associate was there. Well I returned today and nope they were not so the whole promotion was a scam to get me to sign up. I will contacting them to remove them from my electric and I also have them with my gas. I have been a customer for years and now because they want to scam me they will lose me as a customer. I do not recommend anyone use this company because they will lie and say anything to sign u up.. ”

They will cut of your autopay without letting you know and make you liable for their mess up.
“ I moved to a new place and set up autopay to avoid not paying but instead they decided to shut off my autopay without informing me after the took money out automatically the first month of us being there. ”

Moving a meter to original area
“ First of all you have me on hold for 3 hours then transferred me to the right people and that was another 2.5 hours and just to move a meter you said you would make me pay for your installment what a joke. You screw your customers just so you can keep making billions. Sad company you have ”

Scammers: class action suit needed asap
“ This company is a scammer they help put people into debt raising their bill twice higher than your actual gas/electric bill. They double charge you and reads as a second charge on your bill statement at the bottom. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against this company and lots of people need to be warmed to beware and stand far clear away from them and dont fall for the antics of them trying to give you a free gift card or $100 its not forth debt or stress ”

NRG SCAMS YOU!
“ When the NRG guy pitched his sale to us, he talked about locking in the best energy rate and claiming theirs was the lowest. He got us locked in for 12 months, then we noticed our energy bill climbing. After the promo rate (which wasn't actually the lowest as he'd claimed), our bill started getting higher each month. Before NRG, our highest monthly bill didn't go over 150. This month, in spite of warmer weather (less heat and space heater use) and no ac's hooked up yet for summer, we were shocked with a $320 bill. Calling toledo Edison, they said NRG is charging us 13.5c/kwh, while their standard rate right now is 7.5c/kwh!! Without NRG we would be paying $113. That's $207 that NRG is overcharging just in 1 month! I'm trying to support a family of 6 here, and they don't care who you are if they can con you out of money. Boycott NRG. We cancelled them immediately after receiving this bill and talking to the customer support at toledo Edison. ”

Misleading Representatives and Eager to Fleece You
“ Reps encouraged me not to switch till a two-week window to avoid early termination fee. I switched three weeks ahead of time, but then APG&E didn't end my relationship, but instead slapped me with a variable rate. You can't win with this company. Don't be misled by an initial good price. ”

APG&E will find a way to gouge you
“ Don't be deceived by an initial good price. In making a future transition, you can sign a new contract with another provider many weeks ahead of time, but APG&E will manage to arrange things so that you pay another month with them at a skyrocket variable rate. And don't trust representatives who assure you that you are all set and everything has been done in a timely manner so as to avoid higher costs. The company can drag its feet for up to 45 days. ”
