“  VERY UNETHICAL PRACTICES - Called to inquire about electric service as their home warranty perk with being a customer seemed like a good deal which would protect us from the possible high costs of AC and water heater repairs. Even though their price per KW is higher, my wife and I concluded it was worth the piece of mind of future unexpected repair expenses. When signing up, we asked a lot of questions regarding coverage and were told everything is covered unless specifically excluded which seemed like very few things which were mainly maintenance related. Fast forward, and our A/C breaks down 6 months into our contract. We were happy to know we wouldn't have to worry about this, especially with twin babies at home during the Texas summer months. We filed our claim and they sent one of their 3rd party companies to inspect our A/C which left us with an invoice of 3500 and said to call Constellation regarding repair coverage. Upon calling, Constellation's warranty department which goes by Home Protect, proceeds to tell us our part needed is not covered and falls under items excluded in the contract. When I ask to please forward contract reflecting this, they tell us they cannot because it was in the welcome package we would have received through regular mail. I eventually reach a service rep who is able to forward us the original welcome package that was sent to us with contract included. Upon review, we notice it Does Not mention our part as one of those excluded from coverage. We call Constellation's warranty claims department back and get transferred to same manager who we let know that we were able to get the contract and can now see it does not show our part as one of the excluded ones on the list. She then changes her approach to tell us in a very condescending manner that actually if it's not on the list of covered parts, then it's assumed it will not be covered. ”

“  I'm 63yrs old. I've had PPL my entire life. On 5/15/2025 I experienced the worst Customer Service in my life! He spoke barely any English. He asked me to repeat my Routing number/acct. number over 10X's. He continually told me I was wrong. I've had the same numbers over 15+ years, same address over 9+ years. Never had this problem before. Would not give me a Supervisor...said I had to make an appointment to speak with a Supervisor. My family is multi-ethnic, I'm not racist...
however, you need someone who can understand and speak English. This was frustrating and overwhelming. My bill did not get paid!!! Horrific experience!!!! ”

“  This is the worst warranty service ever, I thought car warranties were bad. I have tried to use this plan three times and not one of them was covered. I have the max plan to include appliances and carried this from my old house to new house. So going over 10 years at least. First item...dishwasher. Based on discussion over phone, would not even come look at it. Today microwave mounted, it is not covered because it is not a mounted oven. Fridge do you know where the leak is coming from....if I knew I would be calling. The money I have put in this plan all this years has been an absolute waste. Definitely one for social media. ”

“  Switched to DE after I was promised that they're cheaper and better than my previous provider.
Well, they are not! Those scammers charge more than DOUBLE as ANY other provider.
Their customer service is ridiculous and unprofessional!
Any time I go to Walmart and see people signing up for this company I tell them how I was screwed over and they cancel on the spot. I will do this EVERY time and I wont stop to educate others about this Scammer-Company.
They should be shut down immediately. ”
