I got on Ohio Apples to Apples to compare rates and plans after seeing my AEP electric bill increase significantly. Energy Harbor's price was half my AEP rate! Also necessary for me was a fixed rate, at least 12 months and no early termination fee - and Energy Harbor was good on all points.
Finally, when I called to subscribe Thomas did a quick and efficient job at enrolling me and Energy Harbor followed by email to say I was accepted. All in all, a pleasant experience that will save me $$$

I've been with Energy Harbor for a few years now with my electric and about a year with my gas. I noticed that their rate for gas dropped a little so I called them and within 15 minutes or so I was locked in at the cheaper rate......no questions and no extra fees!

The only issue I had was selecting the correct Ohio Power option on page 3 of the sign up, if you were originally a Columbus & Southern Customer you have to select that option during signup on page 3 to put in the SDI number.

Everything worked well this time (as it did in June when I attempted to enroll but was later "slammed" by an unauthorize provider who switched my service to them - didn't see this until I got my utility bill). I'll keep an eye on things this time. All was good for the short time I had Energy Harbor and I look forward to resuming their service. They were very competitive and the only choice in PA for reasonably priced long-term fixed agreements.

I think I made a good choice
My 24-month term with Energy Harbor was expiring soon so I researched current electricity supply prices on papowerswitch.com and decided that a new 48-month Energy Harbor plan was wisest longterm. I hated changing from 7.9 cents/kWh to 10.4, but the cost of electricity is inescapably higher now than it was 2 years ago, and it keeps rising. I think that I will thank God often that I locked in this rate for 4 whole years. (The rate has already gone up, even since I locked in over a week ago.)
I had no issues with Energy Harbor in the 5 years of prior contracts with them so I feel good about continuing their service.

Well I signed up for Energy harbor on March 29th and it was approved. On May 20th I received an e-mail stating that my service had been cancelled as requested. I had not requested cancellation and had no interaction with Energy Harbor during this time. When I contacted them the 1st time to ask about this I did not receive a clear answer as to why this occurred. I resigned with Energy Harbor and then called again several days later and then got a proper explanation, which put the blame on my original company, which appeared to be true. However, I am upset I was not contacted before it was cancelled and that I now have a higher rate for a shorter term than I originally signed up for.

received offer in mail for electric renew. checked ohio "apples to apples" on line prices and found cheaper rate. (why aren't they the same?) Called 800 contact number and agent said she could not find my on line rate and to renew on line to get that rate? as a previous customer felt being taken advantage of, not a valued customer.

My rates are higher than before!
Ive been waiting for this to take affect, and it finally did on my most recent monthly bill.
Looking back in my last 6 months of energy bills, I see that my costs are higher than before. To make matters worse, this bill was for the first fall month that I used my electric furnace. It made the comparison that much harder.
Why didnt Ohio Energy Ratings provide a sample of the AES bill with highlights where these changes will be highlighted?
I consider myself fairly intelligent, but this situation makes me feel uneducated and potentially scammed. The specific company that I chose was by far the best rate at the time.

Enrolled via app. Hesitated, the continue enrolling within the 2 mns during my enrollment, the rate went up 4 pts. Had proof what rate I was receiving through email. Called customer service 2x's, talk to Supervise another time, ultimately even the Supervise had to look into my enrollment before offering me the rate I had proof of. While on phone with Supervise rate dropped even lower then the original rate I wanted. Told them to cancel my enrollment, that I was going elsewhere. Good thing, found even a way lower rate with Santana Engery. Guess is was meant to be! Thanks Energy Harbor for providing nasty customer service. I'll remember that next time! By the way, how is it your rate changed 3x's on web during my time with customer service? That's kind I'd bad business, isn't it?

I signed up online for a 12 month rate. I received a letter in the mail welcoming to the company and confirming all my information. Two days later I received another letter with a slightly higher rate but everything seemed set. When I got my electric bill on the second billing cycle the supplier had not changed yet. I called Energy Harbor to confirm there were no problems and was told that my account had been rejected. Since then rates have gone up. Why wasnt I notified immediately?

took my order but somehow later erased it
I was unhappy with Energy Harbor when my contract ended. They said they would continue me if I did nothing at around $7.6 per kilowatt hour, when they were offering plans at 5.99 and 6.5 or so. They seem to be hoping that customers will do nothing and thus pay more. Then when I signed up for the 5.99 plan and got a email confirmation, I later got a notice from Ohio Edison that Energy Harbor notified them they were "ending their contract with you." I called and emailed them but they never fixed it. The rep said she would call me today at 8AM but never did. I thus went to a different provider at the 5.99.

Promised a rate - than ignored it
They made seller messages on my bill saying a had a certain rate (same as I was paying) locked for 11 months. 3 months later, they increase the rate 41% I called 4 times, they promised to look into it, promised to call back and completely ignored me. Scam company and not to be trusted.

Is This the Old Bait and Switch?
I got the renewal letter from Energy Harbor informing me that my new rate will be .1186 starting in July. I am currently paying .10890. Before renewing I checked PAPowerswitch.com and was shocked to find that Energy Harbor is offering the same plan for new customers at .09390. When I called their number I was given two plan options which were more expensive (and longer terms). When I mentioned the Powerswitch price, I was told I would have to cancel my current plan and re-apply to get the better rate. So, they won't give me the customer service of just switching me over to the same rate they offer new customers. I have to do it myself. I've been with them for a year now, so I'm an established customer with a solid payment history. I suppose I could do it myself, but since I have to re-apply somewhere, I might as well look for better rates elsewhere. This is a lousy way to treat existing customers. And, I fear they will take advantage of senior customers by assuming they will just go ahead and renew at higher rates. Maybe all the energy companies play this game, but I don't have to play Energy Harbor's bait and switch game.

I have called this company many time at all times of the day. No one ever answers!! I have been on hold for hours!!! I am so sick of not being able to speak to someone so I will find another company.
