IDT Energy has a policy of deceptive business practices, a.k.a. scams. I was approached today by a very personable young man named Jerome who intimated that he was here to speak with me from PPL in order to clear-up a rate discrepancy in my favor. (I should have known better at once, but alas, he caught me just home from work with five other things on my mind!) At no point did he say he was from IDT Energy, nor that he wanted me to sign a contract with them, and yet that is what he suckered me into doing, unaware and unseen. The whole time he kept talking about PPL, not IDT and he was very careful to make sure I never saw beyond the signature box that he had zoomed-in on to hide the fact that the signature was for a contract, not a confirmation from PPL. It wasn't until he left, and I saw the text message in my inbox with the link to the contract to be signed, that I realized what had happened. IDT Energy are liars, and ought to be shut down. Whatever rates or promises they offer, you should not trust them, because any business that engages in such deception in order to scam a person into becoming an unwitting customer cannot be trusted to behave in a scrupulous manner afterwards. They are a company of scammers, and ought to be shut down.
