Though the paperwork says I can cancel within 5 days of the arrival of the terms of service, they have told me I'll have to wait a 30 day processing time before they can release me from service. Subzero stars -- avoid this dubious company!

I live in NH. I tried to switch to Town Square over a month ago. I got an email saying that the switching was in progress. I just got my electric bill today and found it was double what it should be. Upon closer inspection, I find that I was never switched from my previous supplier. As the contract was up with the previous supplier, they were able to charge whatever they wanted. I called Town Square to ask what had happened. After several times on hold, I was told that there was an error in my application, ie, wrong account number, and my application was rejected. They never bothered to send me an email to let me know. The service lady that I spoke to said that Town Square does not send out rejection emails or requests for more information. So, basically, I was rejected, not told and then sucked into paying double my bill with my previous supplier all because Town Square could not bother to send me an email indicating that there was a problem with my application. Basically, they suck and they should be avoided.

I responded to a coupon sent to me in a mailer for Town Square Energy. The offer was for a free $50. Amazon gift card if I signed up on StopYourShock.com and used a certain coupon code. I followed the steps and enrolled using the code. After the service started I inquired about the free Amazon gift card. I was told, the code cannot be used for the plan I selected. This was covered under the fine print that stated "certain restrictions apply." To get the gift card, I needed to select an all renewable energy plan. No where on the coupon does it state this. At no time during the application on StopYourShock.com did this requirement communicated to me. In fact the website accepted the coupon code and signed me up. Little did I know that Town Square had no intentions on giving me the free $50. Amazon gift card. They just want the sign-ups and then rely on the fine print: "certain restrictions apply" to weasel out of sending the gift card.

Was given a fixed rate of .0795kWh 3 mos. ago. Was just informed it was increasing next mo. to .1198/kWh next mo. UIs rate is less than that. Was assured this wouldnt happen as had happened to me with another co.(although I had at least been w/that co. over a year). Will stay w/UI now as I really think these suppliers are scammers!

Town Square policy misleads customers with its option to choose their supplier. Up until last year, there was a 2-week window for changing to a supplier with a more competitive rate. Now I ve been told that any change of supplier must be put in place within 2-3 billing cycles of the existing contract. The catch is that most suppliers require a commitment of a 4-6 months contract and any request to switch sooner involves a $50 cancellation fee. Town Square has out its customers over a barrel with the result that they never know of a good time to switch. I have ended up sticking with the Town Square energy supply rate; no surprise that this Town Square standard rate is the highest out there. Town Square should do better than this for its customers.

I was told this would help lower my electricity bill every month and i am a single mother of three trying to play catch up on my bills. so I thought what a good chance to get caught up only to find out that these people are charging me double making me fall further behind !!! total scam and fraud not cool at all!! run when they call. do not fall for there mischievous ways!!

Beware I feel so robbed by them I cant even sleep Im writing this review at 2:39 am they are a scam rob me blind for months until I realize they found a way to attach themselves to my national grid bill now my bill has been doubled for months first $427 then $455 then $492 what a scam before them my bill was not even $100 what a big scam beware and stay away

I got a StopYourShock.com coupon from ValPack for a $50 Amazon Gift Card. I selected the cheapest introductory rate with Town Square Energy and the website accepted the code and processed my enrollment with Town Square Energy. I received an acceptance email without mention of the Gift Card. I then emailed Town Square Energy and they said the plan I had selected did not qualify. This was not mentioned in the coupon ad and there was plenty of room to add it. Instead, the coupon referred customers to their website to see the full details and terms of service. Total scam and it has been going on for years. You can see older complaints.

Awful.... saying you will get cash back after 6 mos... never did. Rebate some of the monies ...never did... RATE CHARGES ARE MUCH HIGHER THAN YOUR UTILITY PROVIDER. THOUGHT WILL SAVE BECAUSE THEY ARE MUCH LOWER AT THE TIME YOUR ARE SIGNING BUT 2 MOS LATER THEY RACK THEIR PRICE UP

I am always the one giving positive reviews and praising anything that can be praised, but not this time! Enough is enough. I signed up in September for TSE (Town Square Energy) 3 months plan to save a few dollars, knowing that I would switch to another provider close to the end of the promo rate. The first two months they charged us a higher rate than even PPL charges! I called them fully expecting this to be a misunderstanding and quickly fixed. They told me they would send a refund debit cards for the "glitch in their system". They also told me they will lock me in for 5 months starting November with a new rate that's even better. Well, cards never arrived. The new rate was there for 2 months and then it went up and went up again where my bill was $40 higher each month! What a fraud! What a scam! they should be banned from being on PA switch. I am fully intending to take the time and effort to get their attention and my money back if they don't fix this properly by going to each and every social media site and government process there is to report their fraud. I am very frugal person, but feel completely duped by this company.

I have used Pa Power Switch to change electric power. The problem is that this web site is supposed to help you select an energy company. But the Pa Power Switch web site allows scammers like Town Square Energy and NGR, and many others, to catfish customers and rip them off. Do these dishonest companies pay off Pa Power Switch to advertise their scams? I recommend using PPL if you have it..they kindly assign you the lowest price, switch companies for you with no work on your part. Choose a plan from Pa Power Switch and be ripped off to the max.

I've had Town Square Energy since 2017 and I've noticed my bill getting OUT OF CONTROL so I switched. I actually received a bill almost double the last out of control bill. So I decided to call to let them know something is wrong and $800.00 is obviously a mistake. I was told by Michael in Customer Service that my plan expired and they "sent me" 2 notices in the mail and since they didn't get a response from me it goes to a default price. Why would anybody in their right mind think that because I didn't reply to a mailing (that I know never came) that I would be alright with being down right robbed in broad daylight. I signed up for paperless billing just because I know how the mail works and I know that some less than desirable company's work and sure enough it happened anyway. When I asked why it wasn't emailed they said it doesn't work that way. STAY AWAY unless you like being robbed in broad daylight!!!
