Shipley Energy is Great
This provider offers great rates and is easy to deal with. only consideration is if you will not be with them for a year you will have to pay an early termination fee of $75.00 and you need to call them every you to maintain the lowest rate they offer. |

Contract violation - did not adhere to notice terms
There are supposed to be two notices by mail when a contract is to expire. The first is at 60 days and the second at 30 days. Our first notice was not mailed, rather it was dropped into an account portal with no notification. The second notice was never sent. Our rate went from $0.06 per KWH to 0.1999 per KWH...our rate tripled with zero notice. Looking at the reviews here, seems like this is common practice for Shipley. |

Rate increase without notification
I was advised in January by postcard that my promotional rate would expire on March 7, and I would be receiving a detailed letter "with the most up-to-date pricing in approximately 30 days." I never received a letter and when I received my March-April bill the rate almost doubled, and I was paying $82 more. I called and was told they did send a bill by a customer service rep, who had no authority to adjust the bill. It was a matter of he said she said. I asked for someone to call me who had the authority to adjust the bill. Never received that call. From other reviews, I see this is Shipley's practice to increase the rate after the promotional period without notifying the customer. |

Shop Around!!
Shop around!!! Don't be fooled into thinking you're getting a great deal by locking in your winter pricing! After paying $1.99/gal propane for three years I figured it was time to do some shopping. Found another local supplier who locked my winter rate at $1.49 without the absurd $100 fee. When it comes to switching to another supplier, that's where Shipley is THE WORST! I had 172 gallons of LP that Shipley sold to me in their leased tank. I received my final credit today for $39.00. After charging me $89 to pick up their tanks and $1.25/ PER GALLON restocking fee!! Any chance of me recommending someone to this bunch of lousy business people is gone!! Two stars because I never ran out of gas. |

No Plan renewal notification
My plan expired in Expired in July and was then put me on a variable rate that was double than what I originally signed up. I did not get a 60 or 30 day notice in the male and email of my plan expiring. I called in after I got my bill and then was put on a 12 mo fix rate 5.95 cents. But I had to call in. Not a happy customer! |

Unaware of rate increase
Ended up pay almost 15 per kilowatt. Never let us know plan ended. Payed twice as much for electric for two months. Bad customer service. |
