Problems with Fees and Charges (701 reviews)
Frontier Utilities is EXPENSIVE
“ I have been a customer for almost one year and I cannot wait to no longer have this company as my electricity provider. Their rates are VERY HIGH. It's not clear on their website that the TDU charges are extreme. I will soon be a customer of Energy Ogre (Power Next) and my bills will be cut in half. Thank goodness. ”

YEP Energy Lacks Customer Service
“ I locked in on a rate with YEP Energy in August, 2021 for a 3 year term. When I received my first bill, there were a lot of fees that increased my bill amounts which also included a variable rate increase they did not include in my contract rates. I started a complaint in the BBB about their fees to hold them accountable for the extra fees and variable rates. This is where they took a couple of lines out of my BBB complaints and used that against me to reduce my contract length from 3 years to 1 year as they saw fit. I did not notice the expiration dates until 2 months before the end of my first year of service with them was complete and noticed the renewal notices (for twice the amount I originally locked in at). Upon investigation, I realized that they changed my contracted term without my approval.Upon my discovery of the reduced contract length, I began calling and communicating with their customer service which refused to reinstate the original contract term. I filed a complaint with the PUC who investigated the matter and is currently holding them accountable for the 3 year term. I'm still waiting for them to reinstate my original contract term. Be careful with this company. You might think you are getting a good rate, but they lack understanding with their customers, and they will bully you once they have you in their contract. They do demonstrate good customer service to resolve misunderstandings and may even drive you to challenge them in court or with the Public Utility Commission. ”

Not really a deal at all
“ I used Infinite Energy until they were bought out. My rate with IE was $0.549 and my rate with Xoom Energy was $0.399. Yet my monthly bills arrived $20-40 more expensive than the corresponding month from IE despite having a lower rate. There must have been some added fees in there. I'm not sure, because the bill is very difficult to understand and the website is awful. I do not recommend Xoom. ”

Not worth it
“ I had Ambit for 1 year and the rate was fair for a few months and then starting going up. There is no way to pay half before the due date and then pay the rest with out paying a fee. I paid $289 for February and now for March it's $363.91. And Oncor charges are ridiculous $112. So I am done with Ambit! Cancelled and not going back. ”

Dishonest billing and business dealings..
“ I have never been late paying my bill. I was less than 24hrs late on my bill for October. I paid my bill the next day which happened to be pay day and when I had scheduled to pay it anyway. When I noticed that it was late and a late fee had been added to my account, I called to address it. Seems like all their reps are remote, I could hear children in the back ground. The person I spoke with had "submitted for a refund to be allocated to my bill, and told me to pay the difference which was $12.26 less than the amount showing on my account." When I received the next months bill there was only a credit of $2.26 that had been applied to my account and the $10.00 late charge had been reallocated as another fee, which means I had a balance going forward from the previous bill, which also meant that they didn't actually credit me the fee's that they said they did, they just reallocated it to a different line item. When I called to dispute the charges, we went round and round with them not understanding that I never got the credit that they supposedly removed from my account. Which means as long as I paid what my bill showed I would always have a balance going forward. This company lies and cheats to make money. please don't buy into the hype, they are not an honest company to do business with. ”
