I really like Verde, But in April 2020 , Someone switched me to another company, when I received the notice, I call and told the representative in Florida that I like my company Verde and I never gave permission to switch me. I said we are in Quarantine who came to my house? The the lady said it was over the phone. So I said I want the recored conversation. Today is May 28 2020 . Still waiting. I was with verde energy the previous year and they gave me everything that they said they offered. I was very happy with them. When Christian offered me a higher price I still accepted it. I'm very happy with there service. Christian was very good at selling me the program.

Watch out for this company. As soon as your promo rate expires BAM they cut deep to get as much meat as they legally can. My rate DOUBLED and within 30 days it went up even more. I switched as fast as I can to lock in a 18 month rate under 7 cents. These good folks were going to charge upwards of 14.

I signed up thinking I would save money, but my energy bill almost doubled with the first bill I recieved. My supplier charge alone was more than my bill for electricity! I was very unhappy with their services and when I tried to cancel, it took three months to remove them! I was not happy.
I found this energy supplier and tried to sign up. After spending 2 hours on the phone trying to register with them I thought I was all set. Little to my surprise they called me back because they forgot information. They promised ne a gift card worth $50 and said I was all set. I never received a gift card and they never signed me. I callled to see about the gift card and was told i am not partnered with them. What a waste of time. Customer service was very unhelpful they didnt know what they were doing. Please try another energy company first. Save yourself the let down!
I signed up with verde energy i don't see any difference my bill they promised $100 cashback in two parts the first $50 after first 30 days i did what i was suppose to do its been 6 weeks now i haven't received it i called 4 times each time somebody tells me a different story plus now they want to switch me to another company i think are a scam
My past energy supplier merged with Verde as far as I know, and I randomly received a letter in the mail stating I was now a Verde customer. This resulted in my supply energy charge to be twice the average price of electricity. When I cancelled the account, they charged me a customer charge for no reason.
It look hours on the phone to get my money back.

Verde energy took advantage of my 82 year old Mother promising her that her monthly bill would go down. The first month Verde energy charged 3 times the normal bill in addition to the Toledo Edison bill. After calling to complain the supervisor said there was nothing he could do about it since you agreed to the terms. Verde Energy is scamming the American people and getting away with it.
Signed up at a fixed rate and everything was fine. My contract was up in October which I was never notified either by mail or by phone. My rate went from fixed .10 to .19 and never knew until the winter billing period. Supply charge went to $385 in December to $402! Unbelievable, that's 4 months of electricity in the summer! Customer service was NO help as they basically told me tough Sh**!
First of all the salesmen basically forced me into signing up. I read reviews right when he left & called the following morning to CANCEL. Got a confirmation number & all. Come to find out they didnt cancel & my gas bill went up by $40.00. Screw This company & everyone that works for it!!! I hope someone sues you!!!!
After switching to Verde, I experienced an immediate spike in my electricity bill. Poor service and misleading.
My supplier got changed from Hiko to Verde with out my consent
Recently discovered that my bill is double and they charge over $1.1/kwh. I immediately switched the supplier to another company at $0.49/kwh.
Verde rep told me that I did not renew the contract, so the price is even higher than before. I did not sign up with Verde. Then how would I know to renew the contract?
Now I found that they had some rebate offer of $50 for 6 months, that also they refused not pay me.
After cancellation, it is going to take 2 months to take effect, and these months I have to pay the high bill.
I requested the agent to reduce the price till cancellation, that again they refused
This is insane.
If anyone from Verde see this, please refund me the atrocious amount charged for past 7 months and reduce the price for next two months..
If at least that is done, I would feel that Verde is a genuine company.
A salesperson from Verde Energy called me to offer me what was suppose to be a cheaper rate on my electric and gas rates. As it turned out the the rates Verde Energy were charging me were 40% more than my current rates. I was taken advantage of by a dishonest salesperson. If you are considering switching over to Verde, please verify your current rates and the the rate Verde is offering and do the calculations yourself before switching over to Verde.
My number is on the Do Not Call list. Despite that, I was receiving nearly daily telemarketing calls about converting my energy supply to Verde. Since asking the phone representative to stop calling did not work, I wrote to Verde's Customer Care department at
They advised to allow 3-5 days and they would have the calls stopped.
Today (2 weeks later) the telemarketing calls have started again.
I would NEVER do business with a company that has such disregard for the law.
They came to my door, said nothing would change at all. No more money I'd have to pay, nothing. Turns out they lied, my bill was DOUBLED. Everything the guy said at my door was a lie. They aren't technically scammers, but when you lie about something to get them to switch, that's a scam in my book.
Verde doubled my rates with no warning. Electric bills are over $500.00thats more than double. I will have to pay this for 3 billing cycles until they can be removed. They refused to offer any kind of refund.
Telemarketers for Verde repeatedly call Do Not Call listed numbers. They attempt to give the impression that they are going to forward a refund "from your current supplier" until they get your account number and other info that they need to switch the account to Verde. Their telemarketers use a spoofed originating call number so there is another illegal/unethical practice. Good luck with your rates once these bandits get you on their system!
Received a call from a sales rep that I could barely understand. He went through the switch options and constantly had to get his manager on the phone. I must have asked him 10 times if he worked for PSE&G my normal gas and electric company and he continually said "yes". After continuing and answering their questions I was at the same time checking them out on the internet. Did not like what I saw so I told them that I was not interested in their service and was going to hang up the phone. They tried to stop me but I said, no thank you and good-by. A few weeks later I receive 2 Welcome to the Verde Energy Family letters thanking me for signing up with Verde Energy...HUH??!?!?#?#??! I played along with them on the phone originally because I could tell that I was being scammed by a slick rep that thought he was smarter than me...uhhh sorry buddy but I just told your company that you should be fired. So they are cancelling everything but told me if I do receive any charges because of course they already requested the necessary changes from PSE&G that they would reimburse me with a gift card to cover the cost. Really!?!? How about you just make sure that I don't get charged in any way. At least they want to make good on that but will believe it when I see it. Do yourself a favor and don't take the call. I will say that their customer service rep was good and then I spoke with another person that said she would follow up with me next week about the cancellations so apparently they do take that seriously. But they might want to actually train their sales reps to be honest when answering a prospective customer's questions. After reading more reviews about their bait and switch tactics, I am glad that I am smart enough to have investigated them online while on the call. Good riddance to them and their sales rep or what I would more accurately call a lying SOB.
Telemarketer called me to tell me I was entitled to a $100 rebate due to a recent overage charge from my current provider. Long story short, the rebate is no more than a piece of bait to get customers to switch to them. From what I have researched they are not a very reliable and trustworthy energy company.
I was suppose to receive money back a month after signing up and did not. When I finally take action about it they tell me I was not put on the account to get the rebate back so tell me why the hell you have random people knocking at my door telling me the wrong information. He probably kept it for himself. The the agent tells me I can't get it and I had her cancely account. I called back to speak with someone higher up. And got put with an agent she then tells me the other agent should have offered a 50 dollar gift card but now that the account is canceled they can't do anything, then says I couldn't sign up for another account because they don't service in Ohio. They are liars n I would double check your bills and plans. Customer agents rude...Thank u for taking all my money dumb Fucks!
I have been a customer for years. I call every few months to see what the current rates are. I have never had a problem changing the rate per kilowatt hour if the rate was more favorable. Today I called to check on the latest rate. I was told that I would be charged a $50.00 fee if I changed because I changed in September 2019. I have never been charged anything for changing at any time, even within the year. I have searched all the literature, and I cannot find a word about this. At a time people are out of work because of the corona virus, Verde is conning its customers.
Verde never sent my $50 Promo offer so I switched service. Rates were HIGHER than PSE&G rates. Now Verde says since I switched, I no longer am eligible for $50 Promo. Promo says I get $50 after first month of service with copy of my bill. I honored this agreement but VERDE doesn't. BEWARE!
Apparently I started this service April of 2019 only to be screwed over after June 2019. I have been charged upwards of $130 a month. This company is useless what is it you do. Why screw the little guy over, it's a Pandemic!? Furious I wish I could give negatives
Plus note customer service was very helpful considering I was irate that was 10star customer service. The company could learn from them.
I was charged in December 465.00. supply charge in January the supply charge went up to 765.00. This was not for usage just as third party supplier. It was for a beach house which had no one staying at it during these months and all electric turned off
I received an receipt email from Verde last July that my enrollment was processed.
I assumed everything went thru and did not recheck until a few weeks ago. Verde was not on my bill!! I called them. They said there was some issue so it was never processed. I have changed suppliers many times in the past and never had an issue. I TOLD THEM THEY SHOULD HAVE SENT ME AN EMAIL THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE. So, I payed a higher cost for all those months. I have learned a lesson... YOU CAN'T TRUST THEM!
I renewed my plan with Oasis and Verde is taking over Oasis and their contracts but isn't honoring the rates. I called Oasis and they said my contract expired in July but yet I renewed with a 18 month fixed rate contract in May. I contacted Verde and they said I'm enrolled in a variable rate plan which I would never do and have the email from Oasis showing I'm in a fixed rate program. Of course I printed out everything for the new contract. I called Verde today and told them to send me all of the information on my account but they said I'm not sure if we can because it's closed which is fine they were informed by email all calls would be recorded. My Attorney will be filing a case against Verde once they provide the information I requested.
I got a call from Verde. It was a guy with an Indian accent that I could barely understand. He told me he was calling from PECO. I was such a good customer that PECO (not Verde) wanted to offer me 25% off my electric bill and 35% off my gas. Then he said I would no longer have to pay a $12.05 service fee. My budget bill, which is $355 currently was going to drop to $65. When I questioned his math he said that is because they were going to remove all my charges which when I looked at my bill amounted to $117.19. If I subtract that from $355 I get $237.19 so where is this $65 bill coming from? He also said that my kWh was going to drop from .155 to .999. I looked at my bill and it looks like I'm paying .13062 per kWh. Where are they getting their numbers?
When I asked the guy if I could put him on hold he was very gracious. I then called PECO and asked them if they were, indeed, calling all their good customers to offer good rates. The answer: NO! I flipped back to the guy and told him what PECO said. We were mysteriously disconnected.
A few minutes later he called me back from a different phone number and apologized for the disconnection. I told him he was not being honest about who was calling. It was then that he told me he was calling from Verde Energy. He apologized for not telling me that in the first place.
If this doesn't seem sketchy to you then by all means use them as your electric provider. I will not be using them.
Be very careful about even contacting this company about their rates. They will sign you up without your permission, even if you have a better plan with a lower rate, and make you pay their higher rate. I know, it happened to us.
They use scam artists from India, their customers service is located in Jamaica and they are quoting price well above the utility rates.
I received a phone call from Verde stating they are from my current supplier. They told me I was being charged a commercial rate and they needed me to switch to Verde. Of course I agreed. So it was a fraudulent call and misrepresented.
Price quoted was not what was billed.Switched back then received another call from verte.Asked seven times for price per KW never got a answer. I would trust Trump before these Con men. Got hung up on Worlds worst tela- marketers. What a joke
I had a plan with them and everything was good until the end of the contract. They notified me that my price would change at the end of my contract to double what my electric would be at PECO. I called them and cancelled my agreement within the time frame but the last month of the contract they charged me the double amount that I should have been charged. This was December 2018 and it is now May 2019 and I am still waiting on my $92.00 refund. They originally said it would be six weeks to get me refund (but they would have never waited that long to get paid) and then said a check was issued (that was never received) and I would have to wait an additional ten days to see if the check arrived. I waited , called again and they said I had a direct number to call in place of waiting for hours on the phone. Again no check and the number they gave me said leave a number and we will call you back within 23-48 hours. So are you suppose to wait next to your phone to get your money. I have to work to pay the electric. Now the guy who has consistently lied about everything said if you are upset I am not going to talk to you. They can credit my PECO account if they don't want to send a check but at this point they are doing everything to not pay me . DONT USE> They are the worst and they lie and try avoid any responsibility. My bill was always paid on time and I deserve my money back. I am contacting PA utilizes and proceeding with any actions I can.
When I signed up for Verde a few years ago, the offered a rebate promo where you got $50 each time if you submitted a coupon and proof that you were still using Verde as your provider 3 times over the course of 2 years (each coupon had to be submitted a certain umber of months after you started using them). With some fuss (they asked for a customer #, which never provided on bills so I had to contact them to get it) I submitted the first one, and got the rebate. I submitted the second one, and got nothing - no response at all, no money. I submitted the 3rd, and it was returned to me by the postal service as a totally ineligible address. So they moved or changed their address an did not notify customers. I found a new address and sent it - nothing. They still owe me $100 in rebates, and when I wrote an email to customer service I got a vague reply that it would take 3-6weeks to process, and no engagement with the changed address issue, or the other rebate that I never received. As far as I am concerned, they have stolen $100 and they are either disorganized or fraudulent when it comes to the rebates they promised. I will never use them again and urge you to be wary of any promised rebates.
I was a customer of Verde energy and, admittedly, did not switch electricity providers right away when my initial contract expired. Verde charged me 2x the PPL price to compare last month, and on my next bill after I cancelled service, charged me a rate 2.5 times the price to compare which added an additional $87.12 to my already-astronomical September bill. DO NOT SELECT THIS COMPANY!
harrasing phone calls - 2 to 6 calls a day
I never authorized Verde Energy to be my gas supplier. They doubled my rates, without me knowing and Im out about $450.00. They sent me a $25 gift card. Are you serious? 2 days after discovering this, the Philadelphia Inquirer ran a story how PA is fining them nearly 9 million dollars.
This company calls u repeatedly to sign with them. Then when contract is up claims they sent 2 notices but never calls u when they receive no response. Who wouldnt respond if they actually got the correspondence. then they put u on a so call variable rate which takes u to 18 cents When energy products r down they justify a rate increase of over double of what u where paying. This is the most unethical company I have ever dealt with. Do not deal with these scammers.
The contract for my energy account expired and my account converted to month-to-month. Fine. I understand. Verde Energy sent me a notice that my variable rate was increasing. Again fine. However, the letter says "Effective no sooner than 30 days from the date of this letter." The letter was dated July 8. The envelope was dated July 8 - not by the USPS, but rather from their own Pitney Bowes postage meter. .043 - first class mail. I received the letter August 6. It's obvious that the company created the letter, "postmarked the envelope," and then purposefully delayed mailing it until the last possible moment where it would arrive just one business day before the rate increase. Also, nowhere in the letter, signature, letterhead, etc., is the phone number printed. NOWHERE. They deliberately delayed notification and excluded the phone number to make it difficult to contact them in a timely manner. Super scam-y. I cancelled my service and will discourage anyone from using their services.
They offered a $50.00 debit card, but refused to send saying they received our request a day after the offer ended, but we had sent it out 2 months before. How convenient for them. We will be changing suppliers and telling everyone to AVOID!!!
I just got a letter saying that I was now a Verde Customer. I didn't have a clue who they were or how I got switched. I have filed a complaint with the regulators.
