SFE is a amazing program.
My experience was absolutely wonderful. I dont understand why the bad reviews because my bill actually decreased the last 2 years. Philadelphia office is very good. They explained everything to me correctly and my bill was 250$ & they decreased it to 80$ This been my bill for the last 2 years. The door to door reps well dressed, very professional and they are the only supplier for peco & pgw that lock you in at the state lowest for 3 years. All other providers Ive tried they locked me in 2 months low than I start being over charged and double billed. They also lock you in at 180$ for the next 3 years if the average bill is over 150$. They are amazing! Everything you read on the internet is not always correct. If they was a scam the police would not allow they to work the Philly streets. Choose SFE ENERGY IF YOU WANT A LOW BILL. |

I usually ignore anyone who comes to my door, but this time I didnt. A representative named Mahmoud came to my home and the experience was delightful. I finally got my first bill and the rate is fixed as the representative stated so as long as it stays that way for 3 years Ill be satisfied . |

Sales Lady
I had one of your sales rep knock on my door and invited them in as it was very hot out and she was friendly and said she was just there to help me understand my utility bill better. She asked for my bill which I didn't mind getting since she said that is why she was here and she broke down my bill for me and showed me what all the rates are and meant, I found her very helpful. She then went on to explain to me what SFE energy offers and that I had options when it came to utility rates which I didn't know until now. I decided to sign up as it looked like it would help me and she said we would have to do a verification call to complete the enrollment and other details to confirm my account which was reassuring . Overall I found my experience with her very helpful and she was straightforward, very patient explaining everything to me and wasn't trying to push me to sign anything which I found comforting. |

If you try to cancel they hit you with a huge cancellation fee
When I found the rates were not as low as they promised I decided to switch. Two days after switching I got a phone call asking if I had approved the switch after telling them I did they said I would have to pay a cancellation fee. I called the company I switched to and they are paying a portion of the cancellation fee, I dont recall being told their was a cancellation fee. |

Liars!
Two men came to my door on 6/25/24. I googled this SFE Energy and cancelled on 6/27/24, just 2 days later and signed up with AP&G. Federal law allows customers to cancel contracts made with a door-to-door salesperson within three days of signing so I signed with someone else. Yesterday SFE called and claimed that the call I made on 6/27/24 was to keep them despite the fact that I cancelled them and that I will have to pay $270 early termination fee if I don't keep them, despite me saying they were canceled. They insisted I would have to pay the fee and scared me into agreeing to stay with them. However, when I called PPL, my electric supplier, they said I have APG as of 07/24/24 and don't show that I ever had SFE. So how can I have an early termination fee? They better not try to charge me or I'm going to the Better Business Bureau. |

Nothing but a door to door scam
If you hear a knock at your door, ask who it is before opening, two reps came to my door and unfortunately my wife answered and I discovered 2 females one African America and one Hispanic, all I can say is they started flirting with me to get sign a contract dont I feel like a sucker, I dont appreciate door to door solicitors of any kind, needless to say they tried charging me almost $500 to cancel everything, I kindly told them if one of their representatives comes to my door again Im calling the police and they waived the cancellation fees, my advice dont answer the door for anyone unless your expecting the person knocking |

DISHONEST DOOR 2 DOOR PRESSURE TACTICS
Came to the door of my 60 year old mother. said PPL sent them to check the rate of the home. Proceeded to pressure her into a bunch of other info. I asked what was going on and within the minute of talking he was gone. Had no information of who we were to begin with. Wonder how many elderly people they scammed out of their pension and SS. If you want business deception isnt the way to get it. Looks like from the reviews we arent the only ones either. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. |

SCAM
I have tenant who speaks Spanish. The SFE came to the door and spoke in English. My tenant did not fully understand what was happening. And did not sign the contract. But SFE appear on my tenants bill with much higher rate, the original PGW only chagrge 0.5dollar per ccf, now is 1.1. Its ridiculous that the company is fooling the people who have inability to understand the whole situation and still got sign up by SFE for no permission. This is SCAM |

Dont Answer The Door
This company is a scam. Someone knocks on your door saying theyve been trying to contact you on the phone, make you show them your energy bill, provide you a lower rate and get you to switch energy suppliers then and there without even 100% realizing it. Its really aggressive, pressure related and dishonest sales tactics sales tactics. You get locked into a 3 year contract and gave 30 days to cancel but thats barely one billing cycle. Once you do get the bill the fees associated with the plan are just as much as the kilowatts! So no its not less expensive (dishonest sales tactics). When you try to switch suppliers to get a better cost cancellation fee is $200! They claim to have a customer service line that you can never answer. Any 5 star reviews are either new clients that havent checked their bill or are fake. |

Terrible thieves
Absolutely terrible! The sales rep came to the door and explained how our bill would be evenly priced throughout the year so we didn't have a fluctuating bill in the summer/winter months. Once we agreed, every bill we received was over $400, a huge job in an opposite direction we wanted our bill to go! On average we paid about $260 A month. Then the cancellation fee was over $500! They are thieves! The customer service people have no idea what's going on when talking to them and they are not helpful. I would NEVER recommend sfe energy |

Harassment

SFE Services Electric Gas Utilities
It has shown that having SFE services, for my Gas and Electric utilities_is not _and has not saved money. Please cancel asap its been 90 days savings is not there! I realize there is a charge of 25.00 however, Ive used SFE services for my Gas and Electric services and it has been a burden to my budget. I work for a small business where my boss owns a few apartment complexes. He sold two of them and one day we got a certified letter in the mail. When I opened it, it was a bill from SFE Energy for $6600.00 for a cancellation fee! Seriously? I've never heard of such a thing. Obviously, we are not paying this and if need be, we will take it up with our lawyer. |

Disappointed
I'll start by saying I'm brand new to the state of PA and I don't remember ever having the option to choose my electricity supplier. When the young woman came to my door, she 100% led me to believe she worked for PECO and they were doing some sort of update and I needed to sign papers and give her my old electric bills, etc. I'm kind of clueless regarding this action and kept asking her, "Please tell me again what this is about?" and again, she explained that she was there to help me save money on my electric bill. I don't recall her ever saying "SFE Energy" and I wonder if that's why this company has someone call you and ask you to confirm that you want to change suppliers. After she left and I realized what had taken place, I was upset to hear I had been misled. I called SFE to immediately quit the service. An email from SFE read "You have until Jan 17th to change your mind and opt out of this change." So I called with weeks to spare and the woman told me it was too late to change suppliers and I'd have to at least go through one billing cycle before I cold change back to my original supplier. All that said, I received my bill today and the rates are HIGHER than PECOS's. I'm so irritated with this company that I spent 10 minutes writing a bad review. |

Scam company
This company would send an associate to your house door and claim falsely that they are partners of your gas provider in order to make you sign an agreement with them. Then they would charge you a flat $30 for your gas consumption on a monthly basis in addition to the fees of your actual use. Furthermore, they would make it extremely hard for you to opt out of their service by keeping lying to you and giving you fake promises. If you manage to cancel your agreement with them, they would charge you high cancellation fees as if you had begged them to get their service in the first place. I kept calling them and emailing them to cancel the agreement, and every time they would lie to me by saying it was my original provider's responsibility to cancel stop their gas agreement with me. Eventually, I had to play a trick in order to end their scam agreement completely after all of my other efforts to end it failed. |

The representative who approached my husband told my husband our bill would not go over $85 a month. So he signed. My first bill from this company wad $477. More than doubled. Them they said they would give me a refund and only refunded a little of my money. Now they will hear from my lawyer. |

The sales people come to your door saying they are contracted by PECO to make sure you are not effected by the price increases. I said I'm not going to change my energy supplier. Again they said they were contracted by PECO. They ask to see your PECO bill. Do not show it to them. They are trying to get you to switch energy suppliers. |

CAUTION
This company came to me door and assured me that if I move I could easily cancel this service with PECO. My husband was transferred and we moved out of state. I called SFE gas company and they denied this stating I would get billed for cancellation fees. Beware!
All my dealings with this company have been nothing but dishonest. a man showed up at my door on a fri evening after dark wearing a peco hat and jacket. he said he was with peco and that peco was changing their energy supplier to sfe. he said i needed to sign a form to continue receiving services. he then stated that for some reason my paperwork was missing my account no. and he asked for an old bill so he could complete the form. he made a telephone call on his phone and then asked me to read from a card that said sfe is an energy provider. last he said peco would plant a tree to thank me for my time. my mistake for not reading the form. it was dark, i was tired, and i believed the guy was from peco. turns out he completely misrepresented who he was with and why he had come. unbeknownst to me, i had signed a 3 yr contract to switch my gas and electric to sfe. i called their customer support and was told by 2 reps that the service had not yet been switched and that all cancellation fees would be waived. that was not the case. i received a bill from sfe for $90 for cancellation of the electric portion and so another call to customer support. this time i was told i would also receive a $90 bill for the gas cancellation and i would be taken to collections if i did not pay. i called yet again and was told by another rep that management had tried to call me and that they were unable to reach me--i have no missed calls on my phone. last, i submitted a negative review on sfe's site and they did not post the review. management is now to call tomorrow. no legitimate company with any integrity would operate like this. and after googling sfe, i can see that their door to door sales force has been preying on the inexperienced, elderly, etc for yrs. amazingly, sfe allows the misrepresentation to continue and then charges exorbitant cancellation fees when the scam is figured out. |
