Supervisors never call back, watch out tricky electricity facts label
“ UPDATE: Same day I posted the negative review Frontier Utilities replied wanting to hear my concern and hopefully resolve something. I provided them with the information they requested via email and they replied stating they would call me back at 4:05PM on 5/18. It is now 7:40PM and nobody has called me. Nothing has changed. They will get you to sign up with a tricky deceitful energy non-facts label and not respond once confronted.Original post: When i first signed up I never got a call back from a supervisor after I requested to speak to one two times. They were not available. I needed to cancel the contract when I got the first bill due to some unscrupulous higher than expected per kilowatt charges. Be very careful with this company. I shop yearly or every time my contract is up. The average charge on their fact sheet is not inclusive of the state/distribution fees. None of the other providers I have used have been this way. I left them as soon as the contract was over. Last bill was $86 for less than 400 kilowatts. A joke. Other providers are much cheaper. ”

Bait and Switch
“ I switched to Direct Energy in January of 2022. The original offer had no cancellation fees. Low and behold, after using Direct Energy for a few months and getting billed from Direct Energy and from my Electric supplier, I decided to switch companies. Low and behold, hidden on the e-contract, there was a cancellation fee blurb that I did not catch. ”

DON'T DO IT!!!! SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM
“ Doubled my bill!!!! Don't believe the hype. They will tell you they can knock your bill down to like $35 a month, but that's only one part of the charges. I can't go into all the details here because it would take too long. But don't do it, these are the highest electric bills I have ever had in my life. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. My bill was twice the amount as it was before I previously signed up with them. PASS THE WORD AROUND!!! DON'T SIGN U WITH INSPIRE CLEAN ENERGY!!!! ”

Loyal Customer
“ I've been a loyal customer for almost 10 years now. I had to switch accounts for my billing. In the switch, I accidentally attempted to pay the bill with my old account. Well, once I found out that I made the mistake, I was charged a late fee, disconnect notice fee, and a returned payment fee....Though these charges were only $57, I have a problem with them not waiving them because of my tenure and loyalty as a good customer. I have a house full and I shell out at times up to $500 a month or more for service. Quite disappointed. ”

They Failed to Provide Service
“
I confirmed my contract start date in early July to match up with the end of my previous contract. I received multiple notices confirming the contract. After a month without a bill, I called, was told there was a database error and that it was fixed. A month later nothing had changed. I called in to be told my account was not active despite never being given notice of a delay or cancellation in my order. The service had defaulted to that of the apartment complex with disconnection fees because Constellation failed to provide service as agreed. I never received an explanation as to how this happen and once I was actually told they weren't providing service, I closed out the account to seek other service.
The price, if they actually provided service, was decent. ”

Ripoff hidden fees
“ I've had DE for about 2 years now, as I am stuck in a contract. I switched from Reliant. DE's rate was advertised lower per kwh than what I was paying so I fell for it... but failed to realize all bogus fees. I've been in 1brdm small places and avg below 400kwh monthly for many years now low energy consumption - my Reliant bills were always around $40 bucks and even in summer around $65 - it's been double that now with DE. Same low energy consumption, but getting ripped a new one by hidden charges. Customer service is standard nothing to write home about. Those fees are ridiculous however - I'm an on-time and in-full paying customer, but one day the bill slipped my mind and I paid 1 day past the 'due date' - NOT 30 days late mind you...1 DAY PAST DUE DATE and they charged me $30 for a reconnect fee when I wasn't disconnected!! Are you kidding me! I will be moving into a new home purchase and this company will not be moving with me! I'll go back to Reliant or some other company with straight forward billing at fixed rate and no hidden-bogus-padding their pocket-fees. ”
