Highest bill in 30 yrs
“
It's not unlikely to have a $300 + monthly bills. Never had a $400 bill. This month was $871 !! The month before was $665 !!. Not sure what happened. I quickly opted out but was told I would have to stay with them for another 1 or 2 billing cycles.
Beware! Stay away from Provision! ”

Highway Robbery
“ Bill during winter time when I use propane heaters that require zero electricity is almost $500 for the last 3 months. I call and they say its because its cold on the days when my usage is at the highest. No natter how many times I say I have propane heaters they still insist that the weather is causing the higher than usual price. To top it off they state usage days when I am not even home. They do zero to rectify the problem. Either pay the bill or they will shut you off. This company is robbing people. As of today I am no longer a customer of theirs. ”

Contract Issue
“ I was disappointed with the handling of an issue with a contract. My understanding was interpreted differently than conveyed by the representative I spoke with and now I am stuck in a contract that I did not want, unless I pay a cancellation fee. Will not recommend their service. ”

Do Not Fall For This!!!
“ We were told that our gas and electric supplier was changing and that we needed to sign up with PAG&E and were also told that out bill would be much lower. Our bills have only increased since signing up and we were not told we would be under a three year contract and billed an early cancellation fee. Do not trust this company, talk to your present supplier first! ”

SCAMMERS
“ I started my service with West Penn Power and next era in Feb of 2017. When I signed up the power company required to transfer my call to an outside company to pick my supplier. Once on the phone with them I said I just wanted service through WPP. She stated that was NOT POSSIBLE. I had to pick a supplier from a list. She started naming names of energy suppliers. I had no idea who any of these suppliers were as I always had Duquesne light and they just provided electricity through themselves. She told me she would pick one for me and signed me up for NEXT ERA. Since then it has been 7 years of ridiculous rates that I just thought was normal for the area we moved to. Every month was at least $350. During winter watch out. Last January $700+. This month (Feb 2025) $860! This prompted me to call AGAIN. This time WPP tells me that NO, I do not have to have service through next era energy and if my service was solely through WPP my bill this month wouldve been less than half what Next Era charged. I was then given the number to the PA public utility commission to file a case. The lady was stunned and said there will be an investigation. If this happened to you in PA I implore you to also contact the PA public utility commission to start a case (1-800-692-7380). I think deceptive practices were going on within the supplier company that gave commissions to people for signing people onto other suppliers. I wasnt even given the option to choose WPP for my supplier and also was denied a paper bill because it would cost me more Im thinking they didnt want me to see the rate difference on my bill. 7 years and thousands of dollars later I am hopefully free of this scam company. ”
