 Every penny counts in our household so I regularly have to shop around for the best price when my electricity contract expires. I always give my current provider the opportunity to retain me by asking them to offer me the same "SPECIAL DEAL" price that they offer NEW customers. When they tell me all the ridiculous excuses about "introductory" specials don't apply to me and they won't price match their competitors....I CHANGE PROVIDERS. I am surprised, pleased, appreciative, shocked and GRATEFUL that a company FINALLY understands how to treat their customers. I tell EVERYBODY I KNOW TO SIGN UP with 4Change Energy and will post it on social media to everybody I know. THANK YOU FOR SHOWING RESPECT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! You have my business!

Take full advantage of people! Especially the elderly!

 My contract with them at 8.7 kw ended late October 2018, I had hospital problems and bigger fish to deal with, once my contract ended they continued to bill be at 15.990kw over the entire winter and while I was running under house baseboard heaters so my pipes wouldn't freeze. My electric bills went from 140.00 a month to 380+ dollars a month, they NEVER called me to negotiate a new contract! However, when I switched in March to a NEW provider ant 6.25KW they had the NERVE to call me to immediately to renegotiate a new deal! Shame on them! Never use them again! They are rip offs! Theives! Especially for our elderly who are not so internet savy or have good memories of contracts any longer! SHAME ON YOU SPERIAN! Never Again! Rip Offs! I demand a refund! Would LOVE to turn your company in to attorney General office, but a contract is a contract! NEVER thought an electrical provider would take SUCH advantage of a customer! Never entered my mind that they would, has NEVER happened before with any other energy providers! SHAME ON YOU!

I immediately emailed them for an answer (and to have a legal copy of the document on hand). I got a canned reply saying I would have an answer on 2-3 business days. I had to call them 2 weeks later since I received no other reply. I cancelled their service since they did not answer me and they did a "bait and switch" on pricing. I though I was signing up for .481/CCF but they gave me .499/CCF

Very poor customer service.

Immediate rate increases after first month

 I can't recommend strongly enough against this company. Their pitch is a 25% annual rebate on your average monthly bill - that's really a 2% annual rebate, about the same as the reward points on a credit card. They also say it is a variable rate and you can cancel anytime without penalty. Both of those are true. The catch is that the initial rate they quote is slightly below the rate to compare. Then the next month they immediately jack up the rate to close to double and in some cases more than double the rate to compare. On the last bill at two of our facilities, the price to compare was $0.067/KWH; the rate AP&G charged was $0.150722/KWH - 2.26 times the rate to compare. We have over a dozen facilities that we switched to AP&G, which are serviced by several different electric distribution companies, and this happened to all of them. The problem is that you can't change back to your previous generation supplier fast enough. By the time you look at the bill and realize what they did to the rate, you owe that rate for those 30 days and you likely do not have enough time to switch suppliers before the next meter reading, so you will owe their rates for the current 30 days. And since some (but not all) electric companies only switch suppliers on meter reading days so they don't have to do a special reading mid-month, you will likely owe AP&G's exorbitant rates for 30 more days. That was our experience. I have no doubt that AP&G's strategy is to make as much as they can in a 90 day period and hope that people aren't paying close attention and they can continue to get away with it for longer. In the era of deregulation - LET THE BUYER BEWARE!

What a scam!

 I am always the one giving positive reviews and praising anything that can be praised, but not this time! Enough is enough. I signed up in September for TSE (Town Square Energy) 3 months plan to save a few dollars, knowing that I would switch to another provider close to the end of the promo rate. The first two months they charged us a higher rate than even PPL charges! I called them fully expecting this to be a misunderstanding and quickly fixed. They told me they would send a refund debit cards for the "glitch in their system". They also told me they will lock me in for 5 months starting November with a new rate that's even better. Well, cards never arrived. The new rate was there for 2 months and then it went up and went up again where my bill was $40 higher each month! What a fraud! What a scam! they should be banned from being on PA switch. I am fully intending to take the time and effort to get their attention and my money back if they don't fix this properly by going to each and every social media site and government process there is to report their fraud. I am very frugal person, but feel completely duped by this company.

 OBNOXIOUS PUSHY DOOR TO DOOR ENERGY SALES! We are in Bristol, PA and a few minutes ago someone starts ringing our doorbell over and over for 30 sec straight.

When I get to the door I'm immediately getting the "hi are you in charge of making decisions about electric etc for the household". I reply "I'm not interested" and start back inside and this lady has the audacity to think that she's ENTITLED to my time and informs me that I NEED to listen to her. Guess again!

I finally have to tell her - cause she is NOT listening "This is my house. You are now trespassing and if you do not leave I will call the police". And she's like "you can do what you like I don't care blah blah". I finally actually have to tell her off and just slam the door.

Congrats your people are SO Obnoxious that I will now post this review EVERYWHERE I can and hopefully hurt your bottom line.

Horrible Company

 I wish I could rank this sham business as a ZERO. I cancelled my contract with them due to skyrocketing rates and switched to Direct Energy. Direct Energy notifed me shortly after that my contract had been cancelled. I checked and Verde was listed on my monthly bill as my new supplier. I called Verde and they said that NGE had sold all their PA accounts to Verde and my contract was one that was transferred at double my Direct Energy rate! I called NGE and they told me they received notification that I switched to Direct Energy but they never cancelled the transfer. I told them I wanted to be reimbursed the diffence and they told me no. I told them I was reporting them to the PUC and then they said they will reimburse me up to the "local utility rate" but would not tell me what that was. They also said it could take 3 -5 months for it to show up on my bill. STAY AWAY. They were extemely rude and are unethical. Don't be taken by them! I plan to blast this all over social media to alert people. I hope other victims do the same.

This is a scam.

 Some really unprofessional looking guy came to our door and was really pushy while asking about our electric bill. My boyfriend is the one in charge of handling it so he was the one talking to the guy. The guy had some city accent I had difficulty understanding but it sounded as if he was telling my boyfriend something to the effect of our electric supplier was changing something and my boyfriend needed to sign something and make a call.

This whole ordeal was screaming, "SCAM," to me and I outright asked if it was a scam after reading reviews for APG&E online. The guy insisted it wasn't, which is a load of crap. Unfortunately my boyfriend allowed the guy to leave with the paper he signed so now we're just trying to fix things. One of the papers the guy left said we had 3 business days to cancel the transaction. My boyfriend called the number immediately after the guy left to cancel it once I was able to convince him it was indeed a scam. So hopefully that will help resolve this quickly.

A word to the wise...don't sign anything for pretty much anyone who randomly comes to your door unless it's the mail person asking you to sign for a package.

Very Poor

 When i first signed up with frontier for my area i was told Id be paying 10 cent per kWh for pay as you go. My first invoice shows this. Now things are totally different. I called to ask how much were they charging me. The person on the phone said that she did not know, put me on hold for 6 mins, returned and told me Im not sure, its not accurate, about an estimate of 22 cent per kwh i cut her off immediately. I am looking to change companies. I am sick of frontier. And all their customer service reps are hard to understand. Their accents are too strong and they are rude. I asked the lady about a cheaper plan, she start telling me about a deposit of $50. I told her were not talking money until i know WHAT YOU ARE CHARGING! I want info about cheaper plans and Ill decide if i want it! I am adding money to my account about 6 to 7 times a month and barely home! When i am home and using all my lights they send a msg saying i used about 25 cent. When Im not home they send a text saying a used $1.90??!?! I was gone for a month due to Hurricane Harvey, i shut off and unplugged everything except the fridge.... daily usage was terrible! Its as if we were here all day. Sad. I hate this company. Not my first encounter with them. I had them 2 years prior at a different place, put money on my lights that usually last us two weeks... went to the hospital to have my baby, returned home 4 days later and our lights were off. After this switch Im never coming back to them. Glad i never referred anyone. Id lose friends over this horrible deal.

Horrible Customer Service Experience

 HORRIBLE customer service experience. I have been a Reliant customer for several years, ever since moving to Houston. They offer excellent introductory rates, but then drastically increase the prices on your first plan renewal. However, up until this point it has been worth it because of their reliability and exceptional customer service experience.

That ended today....

I set up a request to transfer my services to a new address, and received email receipt confirmation of my service request from Reliant. I found out today that they incorrectly entered a start date for my request 10 days after the service was supposed to start.

Since I am moving tomorrow and wanted to ensure that there was electricity at my new house, I immediately called customer service. The first representative I spoke with, George, was very helpful, friendly, and courteous. Unfortunately my request was beyond his capabilities and he had to transfer me to his supervisor.

This was instantly a polar opposite situation. Instead of listening to my request she immediately went on the offensive, blaming me for the error. Instead of looking into the situation, she accused me of making the mistake despite my receipt confirmation from Reliant confirming the correct information. She was incredibly rude and demeaning the entire phone call. She then tried to blame ERCOT and Centerpoint for the mistake instead. After finally investigating the situation, it turns out Reliant had the incorrect date in their system after all!

I'm going to be looking into new electricity plans first thing tomorrow. It isn't worth the price-gouging to be treated poorly by customer service.
