Don't be a fool ... when your gut says its a scam, its a scam
“ I live in northern california. they called out of the blue. first they say they are PG&E (utility), and that my bill was high last month which it was. when i ask them if they've seen my bill, they say they are not related to PG&E and don't have access to my bill. then they ask you for your name, gas account number, etc. and of course i didn't give them any information over the phone but when I asked them for a phone number to call them back, they give some BS phone number and hang up. Even if they are in the business of selling natural gas, they act like scammers. ”

Scammers!
“
After reading the reviews, I am oh so glad I did this so quickly. They showed up at my door telling me that my company was in the process of switching my SCO rate from them to another company and the price would go up to over $8 per MCF. The deal they had me sign up for was for $6/MCF. This morning, I decided to do some checking on things and noticed right away something was wrong as my current SCO rate is just under $4/MCF and, since it is based on the stock exchange, the likelihood of that EVER reaching $8 is practically impossible. So, after looking over the Apples-to-Apples website, I found a fixed rate at my current SCO rate and set a request to switch to them.
So, moral of this story, if IGS Energy shows up at your door, tell them to leave, immediately. The only reason I even entertained them (I have a no solicitation sign on my property) is because I thought they were with Enbridge, because they said they were. I plan on also contacting PUCO and Enbridge and letting them know they have a company going around pretending to be Enbridge to scam people into signing contracts. ”

Do not open the door to talk to Spring Power & Gas
“ I work for an electrical utility company and they knocked on the door this morning to sell me on lower supplier rates. Thankfully I know how electric billing works and what they were saying didn't quite make sense but "sounded" right. However what they are trying to do is get you to sign on with Spring as your electric supplier with a variable rate kWh charge (and/or gas) at (usually) worse than even the utility price and likely are just trying to rush through getting folks to sign stuff "as an acknowledgement they visited." Please do not sign anything with them. ”

Complete scam
“ In four months they've raised my gas rate by 247%. I signed on for a 3 month promotional deal at Walmart. I forgot to call and renew after nine months, my bad. However, in the four month interim, the rate went from .32 per therm, to .79 per therm! They raise the rate by 30% each month, so the compounding effect is huge! When I cried uncle and tried to get back on the plan, they refused. I then said I want to cancel, and they said it would take two to three billing cycles! Crooks, plain and simple. ”
