AEP Energy Resources
AEP Energy is the retail electricity and natural gas arm of American Electric Power. AEP ranks among the nation's largest generators of electricity and is the nation's largest electricity transmission system with major supply infrastructures in Texas, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana, Michigan, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Arkansas and Louisiana.
In 2012, AEP began to make major efforts towards expanding into the realm of retail energy with purchases of Blue Star Power in Illinois, as well as plans to pursue retail energy sales in Texas and Ohio. It is expected they will continue to expand into the retail natural gas and electricity markets across the United States.

Every damn time we hire AEP for a disconnect/reconnect, it takes 3+ hours for them to show up.
Every technician that comes out is amazing, very respectful.
We find ourselves calling multiple times, saying the same thing they are on their way no, theyre not.
The customer service hotline seems to always have problems contacting the drivers.

Everytime we have a storm and the wind blows, our power gies out. We live 5 minutes from town and a month ago it was 4 days getting our power back on. Now here it is 3 to 4 weeks later and our power is out again. My husband is on oxegyn and we are already on day 3 now this time with no power again. Everytime you drive by an electric truck everyone is just standing around. I feel like we are not valued customers. It is 2024 and it takes days to fix a pole?

I went thru their ridiculous process to re-enroll at the end of the contract and received a confirmation of re-enrollment. After 2 weeks saw my peco bill not showing them as my supplier. Called them and they had no record of me requesting for re-enrollment neither willing to review the re-enrollment confirmation email that I had received from them. What a joke of a company!!!
