Provision Power & Gas -- Profile Analysis

I have lived in apartments for awhile but I didn't even know choosing a supplier was a thing. A representative knocked on my door and explained it all to me, but they purposely make it confusing and make you think this is something you have to give your information for and is just a change in your services, NOT that it's an optional thing. Several of their practices are how scams operate, including a phone call where they ask you 10 questions and only want you to answer Yes to them and nothing else, and a confirmation number you have to write down that you don't actually need (I'm pretty sure the confirmation number is fake and is just to make you think it's more legit). I supposedly was able to cancel it by talking to their online chat, but now I'm paranoid that they won't actually cancel it for me.

They keep sending sales reps to my house. I tell them I am not interested, I've complained to their corporate office and been told they would stop, and still their sales people keep harassing me. I would burn coal before I used this supplier.

Provision reps lied about the length of the contract. They said it was until the end of NEXT December (this happened in November). They also stated that the rate will vary but will never exceed .05/kwh. I should have trusted my gut instinct and told them no. When I received my terms, conditions and contract a few days later, it is for ONE month, not 12. I went ahead and canceled the supplier before my contract started. Too many red flags right from the start. I wouldnt trust or recommend Provision to anyone. There are plenty of other suppliers to pick from that are more reputable.

I understand energy suppliers and how things work, but somehow I fell for the pushy door to door sales. He used the term fixed for 30 days. My rate was accurate for 30 days then the rate more than doubled. Highest electric bill I have EVER incurred! Avoid this company at all costs

Annoying person's telling me they overcharged me and telling me they know where i live, but when i asked to give me my money back on my account they would not do it.
I kept saying I was at work and they kept asking for my personal information age, address, and energy bill information in order to get my refund. This when I told them over and over that I was at work

It's not unlikely to have a $300 + monthly bills. Never had a $400 bill.This month was $871 !! The month before was $665 !!. Not sure what happened. I quickly opted out but was told I would have to stay with them for another 1 or 2 billing cycles.
Beware! Stay away from Provision!

Never signed up for this. People came to the door and talked about duke energy. Never signed anything. Maybe this isnt protocol but the people sure didnt care. Somehow it got added to our electric bill and stuck us with an extra $500.

My natural gas defaulted to Provision as the provider. It's one of the most expensive plans on the market. My bill was $100 more than it was last winter, similar weather conditions, and LESS USAGE. I highly recommend everyone shop around and choose their own provider.

I never leave rewiev anywhere but this is outrageous. Sales person shows to my door offering Provision Energy rates (Fixed rates) they "never change" and you can cancel at any time. I believe she was telling me truth without reading the contract. My fault didn't read contract. I believed what she is saying. Gas and electricity. For the first month started lover than what I had end after that went up by DOUBLE and capt climbing more and more. I guess I learned that I signed up for VARIABLE rate. And there VARIABLE rate only goes UP and UP only. And worst part if you want to cancel it takes them extra month. So I called them wright on the start of my billing cycle and told them to cancel now they said ok but they will still bill me for next month because they need a MONTH to cancel everything. So they can raise you rate even more and charge you for another month. Ridiculous. Shame on them.
