After 2 years on 12 month plans, I am very happy with the service and rates. My usage varies from just over 1000 kw to just over 2000 kw per month. During the past year, my total bill divided by KWH used consistently comes in at just over 11 cents per KWH. The residential renewal rate they are offering is lower yet.

Abbacus was a good company. Whenever I needed extra time to pay my bill, they always helped me out.I was with the company one month from being a year when they went out of business.I was very satisfied. Customer service was good. I hope to find another company that good.

I've used them for over a year on the variable plan. I have not had drastic rate changes (month to month), and I am considering locking in my current or even a lower rate with them for a 6 month contract.

Potentia Energy has excellent customer service. A live person answers the phone. An issue with a setting up a billing account was dealt with person to person in the most respectful manner with the same person dealing with the resolving the issue from beginning to end. It was a pleasure to work with this company.

Green Mountain has always done what they said they would. Great customer service extremly nice and understanding, eventhough they charged me a $20.00 fee for sending out a letter. Ouch!! That taught me to never be late again. Green Mountain works for me. I have been a customer for over five years.

No problems with Champion. Price as expected.

We were extremely satisfied with Nation's Power. We liked that we were able to view our usage per day and the rates per day online. While it did fluctuate per day since it was a month to month variable account, at the lowest we paid 7 cents/kwh and at the highest it was 20 cents/kwh, still cheaper than all pre-paid companies I researched. Plus we did not have to pay a deposit. The only things I did not like were that if our account was running low they would automatically take $10 from our debit card and add it to the account and charge us $5 for that and each time we made a payment. I can't stand that all of these companies seem to want to charge you to pay your bill, they should charge you when you DON'T. The only other thing I didn't like was that there was a two day lag in the billing. However, now they told us that Nation's Power got bought out by Appollo Light and Power and everything has changed and we are looking for a new company.

After being a Reliant customer for many years, I finally decided to try one of the little guys. After much research, I found Bounce. What luck!! My bills are much lower, customer service is great, and there are always perks for the customers.

I have been a TXU customer for well over 10 years, have watched friends and family jump from one company to another due to better rates and bad customer service, billing issues.

Due to the economy situation, I was needing to find a better rate for electricity. I went to this website and powertochoose.org to do my research. While there are other companies out there that are cheaper, the billing/customer service issues I am reading about do not make me want to change over to a company I am not familiar with.

I decided to call TXU and find out what they would do for a loyal customer as far as lower rate. They didn't go down to the 8.5 cents, but did get a lower rate than was posted. The person who worked with me on the phone was pleasant, helpful and cooperative. I then asked at the end to be transferred to billing and that person was just as pleasant and helpful. I think I made the right decision and would recommend to all! Good luck!

Great service, simple billing. Only problem is I forgot to renew and they hiked my rate for a month. Renewing now.

Have received several rewards, the last a free month of electricity up to $150. this month. Something to smile about. Also, I have their Green energy plan, "Blue Sky." I pay a bit more but feel I am contributing in some small way to the good of our mother earth.

I have been a customer since 09-10 and I've had a 4.5 rating out of 5 experience with this company. The only negative I can say is they call you to remind you your payment is due as if you didn't know this already.

I have spoken with customer service on five ocassions and have had a great experience each time. So, YES I will recommend them to others unless their pricing structure were to get out of hand. After all, most people do kick the cat...

Have not had major issues, prices were ok but made mistake of accepting 3 year plan. Bad timing on my part I guess since rate at time I initiated plan was 13.6/kwh. Nothing I could with a $300+ cancellation fee once rates dropped significantly. Not worth cancelling and changing. Will look at other companies to try to improve rate for a while and make up some of what I have lost with this higher rate I got stuck with. Not afraid to switch and may even consider staying if rate is reasonalbe on month to month but it doesn't look like they are beating others or even close even on 3 or 6 month plans Startex appears too high compared to others. Customer service ok and have not had problems on a few occasions when late over the last 2 years.

After searching on the internet for my new electric provider I came across Startex power decided to give them a try. I am very glad I did so, I have been with them going on 3 months now and am happy to say I am a very satisfied customer. I live in a 3 bed 2 bath home my bills have been anywhere from 90 to 120 a month. At first I thought this was some sort of mistake on their behalf but that was not the case. With my previous provider I was paying around 280 a month that was a 2 bed 2 bath. I would highly recomend anyone looking for good service at a reasonable price to Startex!

I've had two separate contracts with Spark and find they deliver what they contract to. Never a bad billing, but you must deal online and by credit card, unless you have an occasional question via phone. Don't believe the price hype on how low they are without comparing. I quit them once and am about to do so again.

I would renew with them for the 3rd year in a row but found another comparable provider for less. I never had one problem during my time as a customer. Sad to leave.

I have had spark for 2 years. I noticed if I renew that I have to pay $8.99 a month when I use less than 1000 kw. This would be 9 months out of the year. Why should I be penalized when I don't hog electricity and keep my house freezing, etc. Not sure who to switch to since I had no problem with their billing or service.

After becoming frustrated with TXU and trying to get help from outsourced employees, I switched to Dynowatt, a Texas based company whose customer service reps are located in Texas. The customer service reps are great and actually are able to help you when you call -- and not simply read from a computer screen.

Switched to Reliant when they had a come-on 5.2 cent rate a few months ago (Basic Power Flex). Sadly, they just jacked it up to 8.1. They don't tell you, so you have to monitor their website. Still a pretty good rate so we'll stick with them for a while but we may have to shop around again shortly if they stealth increase on us again. Anyway, we had a good run of 3 months of low bills in the heat!

I just want to take the time to say I am very pleased with Champion Energy Services. From the moment I started my first contract I have had a personal experience with the associates. Their actually came a time when my finances had taken a toll for the worst and I owed over $800 in late bills. Through careful consideration of rules and regulations as well as what was best for me and my family and an ongoing relationship with one of the associates I currently have a zero balance on my account. Also, I have renewed my contract with no hesitation. I like when other light companies are trying to get me to change ( like Reliant and Green Mountain Energy ) and I say "oh I have champion". They turn their noses up and say " We can never get champion customers, they have the best service". To actually hear competition agreeing that Champion is the best makes me feel like I have made the right commitment.

My contract with StarTex is about up and I have been searching for a cheaper provider. However, after reading the reviews for these companies I realize that the bargains come at a cost, customer service and reliability, both of which I have found to be excellent with StarTex. StarTex's prices are about average, but at least I know I won't have any battles with these folks!

I was on a rate plan until this July and was very happy. I did not enter another because I knew I would be buying a home and was worried about breaking a contract. Even though I have been going month to month my bill has been good. Unfortunately I am forced to shop for another company because the new rate plans are very high. I have not had any issues, I love that I can go online and pay, and my bills were decent. They no longer offer any rate plans that are priced decent. I did try to call customer service to see if I could get a lower rate as a loyal customer but no luck.....so I will shop and read reviews until I find another company

A friend recommended Champion because of low rates. Rates were low, but it did not mean that Champion did not take care of their customers.
I'm moving to state where Champion does not provide service. It's the only reason for my not
continuing to be a customer. During the transition they have been most helpful. With low cost and good service how can you go wrong with Champion.

Been with Spark since about 2007. No horror
stories, no weird billing/meter issues. This
seems like it should be a given, but it's not
these days.

Competitive rates, also enjoy the credit card
auto pay - not everybody has that, you know.
If you simply read and understand the
difference between fixed and variable rate,
are a person of average intelligence, etc., you
should have no issues with Spark sign up and
service.

The one time i needed an email response for a
question, I got a satisfactory answer in a day
or 2. It seems they really cared.

Been a happy camper. My only concern is that I
think Spark's Residential service may be coming
to a close for my Zip code (website only
returns Commercial service hits now on my Zip).
Hence I may need to find another provider that
can give me *everything* Spark has given for
the past years. Hard to do...

One Co. might have good rates but no credit
card auto pay. Another has cc auto pay but
consumer horror stories... and so it goes.

i wish they would discount more for longer term commitments....but love the debit card at the end of the year...125.00 last year!!!

I have being with Ambit since 08/2010 and haven't
got any Issues. Price plan is great. I consider my
self a high kwh consumer. I used between 900 kwh
normal weather and 2000 kwh extreme weather.
people believe it or not weather does have impact
in your usage. So beware of your thermostats

Entrust has got great rates and even better than that the customer service is impeccable. I have never been treated so kindly from the agent that came to my door to the customer service. WHAT A WONDERFUL COMPANY... You should get on board for sure!!

signed up for Reliant and set up my online account, which was then lost, but I couldn't sign up again because I was already signed up. Finally got that ironed out, but never did receive an e-bill although I did get their weekly newsletters - hmmm. Finally they began to send paper bills, and I mailed in payment as I couldn't get their website to work. I don't like that there is a fee for calling customer service. However, the online chat is free, and the customer service through that was very good - they did solve the problems.Overall they are okay, .

They saved me a lot of money no gimmick fees with the bill easy to understand they did what they said.

now. We have the lowest rate of anyone we know
and I tell EVERYONE! When we moved across town,
our service was transferred without a hassle. We
have been very pleased with every aspect of our
Amigo Energy.

I have been with TriEagle since they entered the residential space in mid-2010. They have live customer service people right here in Houston, and the rates are some of the best around. ALSO, there are no HIDDEN extra charges like you get with the other guys.

I like champion energy a lot comparing to my old
electricity provider. Champion Energy does not have
hidden fees, and the bills are all as expected. I am
also satisfied with their low fee. I am living by
myself in my apartment, and their overall charge was
always about 30% lower comparing to my old one. They
charged me such a rip-off price with hidden fees and
unreasonable rules. Now I pay around 18-30
dollars using less than 300 kilo watt per month (it
varies.. my highest bill was $29). I guess champion
energy is one of the cheapest providers in my area.
Also quite satisfied with their customer services. At
least, they get the phone right away, and they are not
rude. I don't expect too much. I suffered such a bad
time with other provider's horrible customer service
in the past. Comparing to them, champion energy is
just doing a good job. I use recurring payment through
my bank account, and it costs nothing. So far, simply
no problem and quite good service

My acct with Kinetic Energy dissolved into Cirro
Energy with no problems. The changeover was
seamless.
Would definitely recommend.

Have been a Stream Energy Customer for 5 years. They always have great rates and excellent service.

With TXU I would pay 400.00 to 600.00 a month, for the very cold and very hot months..The same thing when I switched to Reliant.. I switch to Stream Energy two years ago.. I now pay 120.00 to 225.00 during those same months..

I've had their service for several years and they have been excellent and remain so.

I have Entrust for over 5 months now. A pretty good experience so far, and they don't have all types of fees I was seeing on my previous bill.

I will never switch!

Signed up 11 months ago and ready to sign a new contract. I used the autopay with credit card, so never had an issue with billing. I got my statement in the mail and knew it would autopay on my credit card.. seemless. Unfortunately, they are not as cheap as some, so I'm looking for cheaper electricity. I've been happy with them, just not the cheapest right now.

I was really happy with my 12 month fixed rate when I signed up. I found their balanced billing right on, easy payment through website and customer service exceptional. Now it is time for me to renew, expires 12/9/13 and I cannot find a plan on their website that compares to what I currently have. The only thing close would be the 8 month, but it is still higher and it will expire in the midst of the summer heat in TX. Not going to take those chances, so I will be looking to switch to another company. Up until now, I have recommended them to all of my friends, but not so sure, since the renewal prices are so much higher than a year ago.

I liked Gexa and would have stayed with them except their rates went up at the end of my contract. I called to see if they had a special rate for old customers and they did not. Two days after I signed up with another company a representative from Gexa called with a better rate. I had already signed up with another company. Gexa needs to value their current customers with lower competitive rates.

I signed up with them through a salesman who came by my house as I had had enough of the previous provider. Although he was quite thorough in explaining the services and charges, he did forget to mention some terms and conditions which weren't mentioned on the contract. It would have been better if they were transparent about their policies regarding cancellation and renewal. However, I'm satisfied with their pricing and have no complains about it.

Like I was saying. Bounce Energy is just "okay". Like don't get me wrong they're not all that bad, but they aren't all that great either. Everything is well until your plan is up. I had a 12 month plan and didn't notate when my plan was up and when the year went by I received no email or call no NOTHIN! I found out my plan was up with a $180 bill!!! I live by myself!! It is a bit ridiculous if you ask me. Apparently they put me on a month to month plan without informing me. I called as soon as I realized what had happened and they did grant me a decent discount and updated my plan for me. The agent was courteous and understanding although I didn't get refunded the price different of what I had been paying for the past 3 months or so at the month to month rate.

Bottom Line, if you are GREAT, FANTASTIC, AMAZING, at keeping track of your plans then go for it. But if you can avoid getting Bounce for any reason, go with someone else! I changed my plan to 6 months just to give them another shot, but I did it mainly out of convenience. There are better providers out there. And bounce is simply alright. OH, and their website is awful! Sometimes you can't even login and I rely a lot on paying my bill online, tough luck!
Having said that, if you choose to go with bounce because of prices, then go with it, just be careful. Because ultimately you do what you gotta do regardless of service.

In my experience, 99% of these companies are the same. All have their share of negative/positive/neutral reviews. Infinite Energy has been absolutely fine for us. No complaints. No billing surprises. No surprises in general. My opinion - I don't have an qualm about recommending Infinite Energy because it has the best rate and is reputable.

I've been a customer of Infinite Energy for 6 months now. I like that I haven't had an issue in that time and hope to continue to have a positive experience with them. I really like their mobile app so I can stay on top of things wherever I am but especially on vacation or whatnot. I don't trust autopay so I choose to manually pay the bill through their app. It is my experience that it is a modernized company. Here's to continued good fortune with these guys.

I have been using this company since 2014 and I really haven't had a complaint about their service. I have gotten a lot of different rewards and their customer service is great. They usually answer their phones pretty quickly and they don't try to "Bounce" you around.

The price plans were pretty good, but I would have liked more customer service help. I had some difficulty figuring everything out and it would have been nice to speak to someone.

My experience was just okay the prices struck me as a bit too high and the plans were confusing, but the people were helpful in untangling the policies.

I switched electric companies every 6 months to a year until I switched to Bounce 2 years ago. I just renewed today for another year. I'm not sure if I will ever switch companies again... and that is a relief! Their customer service is great although I have not had to call them for much over the last two years. They offered me a 'beat the competitor's discount' to keep me as a customer as well as a bill credit. When you see other much lower rates - make sure you read the fine print as there is usually a catch. I have not had any problems with Bounce Energy over the last two years and highly recommend them! What other company out there offers a rewards program that pays YOU back??? None that I've found. Good luck with your search, but if I were you I'd stop here!

Utility companies and other assorted connections tend to be made more complicated than they have to be. Nation Grid was clear, patient and gave me all the time I needed, rather than adding another source of stress to moving in. The experience with tham has been simple, without hassle, and I certainly wish all utility companies were more like national grid.

I love the Power to Go program as it helps me to proactively manage my energy consumption. The per KwH rate is competitive with post-pay plans & I get notifications each day, telling me how many KwH used as well as the cost. That way I can easily determine what my "energy vampires" are and kill them! Plus, no surprise bills at the end of the month! If you don't want daily texts you can get email - or both - and you can adjust how frequently they come. I definitely recommend Direct Energy Power to Go to anyone who wants to have the most control possible over their electricity consumption.

I've only had one problem early on with an automatic payment, otherwise StarTex is outstanding in its competition, pricing, and customer service. We are very impressed and are loyal customers!!

Signed up today! Rep was very helpful! even gave me a promo code to save 10 dollars on next bill! Locked in a rate of 9.4 KWH for 9 months.The rep was very clear about the fees, which are close to none! Will continue to use this provider! Thanks Startex!

The benefits of choice are clear when you work with StarTex Power. I didn't realize how good I had it until I moved away. But from start to finish, and at every point in between, StarTex went above and beyond to deliver competitive prices and excellent customer service. I was most impressed when a VP picked up to answer a billing question. You just don't find that service elsewhere. I miss having the option to choose a power company. But if I ever make it back to Texas, StarTex is the choice for me!

Very easy to get started with, we lived in an apartment for 2 years where electricity was provided. They switched us over promply (we bought a home)and there was no deposit required. I like the option for signing a 6 mo. contract at very competitive rates.

I've lived in Texas for almost three years now, and am still in shock over how low my electricity bill is. At first, I had inadvertently signed up for an adjustable rate, (Clueless because in Florida, you do NOT have a choice where power is concerned; on rate, or company.)and when I realized this, all it took was one phone call to get it fixed, at a great rate. No hassle, whatsoever.
I've never had any problem at all with the actual service either. The power has gone off a couple of times with weather, or whatever, but it was always right back on in no time.
A friend, whose house is smaller than mine, was paying more than three times as much as I do for power. She didn't believe me. I literally had to show her my bill. She's a StarTex Power customer too, now! (Smart meter my foot.)
I will absolutely refer people to StarTex Power whenever the opportunity presents itself.

I like the customer service that I receive from this provider. I have had two other companies and this is a step above them. Not much that you can say about utility companies, except how much they drain your wallet. But StarTex gives you ease of payment options (no service charges for Visa/MC) and great customer service.

Current customer for one year and now up for renewal. Their rates are still competative after a year and have had no issues in the past year. I will renew with StarTex - why change a good thing?

I have been with TriEagle for 5 years. They are a good company which charges reasonable prices and provides meaningful information. However, their customer service is sorely lacking. Sometimes it is extremely difficult to reach them, and frequently when you do the agents are not terribly knowledgeable. It can be very frustrating to deal with them. Fortunately one doesn't need to confer with an electricity provider that often, but when one does it is usually important. So I am reluctantly leaving them, at least for the moment.

The setup was fast and seamless. They have really reasonable rates for prepaid plans. There is no contract or deposit. Love the free nights being that that is when. I am home the most. Would recommend to anyone that wants to save money

I had somebody come over and talked me into getting Vista Energy. Their reps turned out to be really good so I made the change. They said they were gonna help me out. They provide good service. Its just that I needed to get my bill so that I can pay it. I havent received the bill. They told me I was paying way too much and they could do better for me.

Vista Energy Marketing is the same as my past provider and they are both good, but Vista had a good price. I did things online and it was a good site. Vista also provides a good service.

I was looking at several listings till I found Tomorrow Energy. It was an easy path to changing from my former company to Tomorrow Energy. A great choice for price and ordering.

I Received my renewal notice, and compared prices, only to find Direct energy was more than some others for the same one year, no fee,no cancellation charge,plan. Based on that I checked with them and found that was the best they could do, but I was offered a $100.00 gift card, which made up the difference. That sweetener, sealed the deal, for me.
