Scammers
“ Wants to charge me 50% more than comed. I cancelled with them over the phone. Was told I'd have a rate closer to 7 per kilowatt. Got the letter from them and it was 10. I cancelled with Smart energy. Funny he could bring my rate down to 9. Thieving people over the phone. Don't trust smart energy. ”

2x kWh Cost
“
I met a representative at a local grocery store. I had luck saving money on my energy bill prior with other companies so I gave them a shot. The Representative talked a good talk and had data to back up what he was selling. The papers showed all the odd ball charges imposed by Grid, which amounted up to rough 50 some odd dollars. I had inquired about the cost of the kWh as this and the delivery fees due to attenuation over distance are what really cost us in the long run. I had been assured that the price per kWh would not change. So to my surprise getting a 550 electrical bill as opposed to the 50ish dollars off of the original bills which usually came in around $180 to $250 per month. If I was saving dollars we should have seen $130 to $200 not $550.
National Grids going rate is .06X cents per kWh in my service area, Green Mountain is charging me .14 cents per kWh in my service area.
I will be filling a complaint with my states Public Service Commission and the Hotline for Competitive Energy Complaints. Twice the cost is not competitive. ”

Bait & Switch
“ Bait & Switch - Stream promised a rebate of the switching fees from Xoom (who gave good rates and excellent services) - but when I submitted the final bill from Xoom (which took two months to receive) they said they would not honor the rebate because they didn't receive it in the allotted time frame. This was delivered via email after a customer service person on the phone confirmed the rebate was valid. BEWARE! ”

customer service
“ I've been trying for over a month to transfer a meter account to my name, but I haven't been able to do so because the meter is a commercial one, and no one knows how to help me change it to a residential account. The customer service over the phone is very poor as they always give me different explanations every week, and it takes hours for them to answer my call regardless of the day or time I call. ”
